I met someone last year who ended up being a fwb for a short time, it was no different to any other fwb ive had in the past outside of fab, I think it all depends on how you want for your own experience.

ohhh in that case my previous comment is no help at all lol. I tend to have a set of rules which both myself and my fwb agree with so that there is no complications, i.e complete honesty with each other, for me its like a relationship but without any commitment to each other and the freedom to have sex with other people etc

I have two FWBs I’ve met on another site. How it works is different for both.

#1 I have been in contact with since March. We meet up very rarely as he has a chronic illness, but we message every day and feel quite emotionally close. But we’re not partners, we had a discussion and he said he’s not available to be a boyfriend because of his circumstances. We meet up maybe once a month and it’s sweet & fun. In between we flirt. We are friends first and foremost, so more friends than benefits.

#2 I’ve been seeing since April. We meet up every 2 weeks or so, we go out for drinks or dinner, then we have an overnight. We don’t talk loads in between as he’s not much of a communicator (I kinda hate this tbh but it’s how he is) but when we see each other he reassures me he’s not going anywhere. So more benefits than friends, but we get on super well and I love his company.

I have feelings of some sort for both, but as I’m happily single I don’t feel I need to make either a boyfriend. I’m trying out ethical nonmonogamy and I guess I’m a bit of a Relationship Anarchist.

I hope the two relationships will carry on but I also accept that they probably have a time limit. I try to enjoy them for what they are, in the moment.

I’ve never had one too. Although I still speak to someone who lives far too far away to see often, I’d say she’s a friend.

We speak about stuff, and try to arrange meeting up (not just sexy stuff).

If she shared who she wants to get with, I’d think it was a bit weird as we’d never done that at first anyway. But I wouldn’t mind.

You don't have to message everyday, but it's good to keep in touch, even if you're just chatting shit. Meet up for sex when you can. Even if it's not super-regular, that can be good in building up the desire between meets

I am currently looking to find a lady fwb that's okay with hanging out with someone who's not a massive communicator in the sense of casual chat. I am great with communication when it's important or within the sexy space, but in general, I don't chat masses.

And then meet up again the following week, shame not many ladies like it, but maybe it me that puts them off

Yeah tbh I don’t enjoy the lack of in-between communication with my second guy. But when we’re together he reassures me (which I ask him to do). I absolutely love lots of chat & attention and that’s what I get from guy number one.

I try to think of it like this: no one person can fulfil all your needs, so I get some things from one guy (daily communication, emotional intimacy, sweetness) and other from the other (nights out, sex). It can be hard sometimes but I get most of my needs met. Obviously none of those needs are “to have a boyfriend I live with” so if that need arises then I’ll rethink!

A couple of months ago I found a fwb, we message everyday about random stuff, how's your day going, occasional sexting etc..

I go to his, we have food, watch a film and sex, I sleep over if convenient for us both, we have been out a couple of times, currently planning a trip to cinema next week

This is working for us both at the moment, how long for, who knows, so just enjoying and making the most of the situation

No no I don't mean like using someone in that way. I don't talk masses like an extroverted person does. I'm introverted so talk much less, but when I can open up with the individual, I do talk more. I'm just reserved until I come out of my shell.

Part answered this in your other thread. It might be easier to describe fb's and fwb's as the differences become more obvious.

FB - someone who doesn't want a relationship, you get on with each other, can basically call up and fuck. You meet you have a decent time, there are few questions asked and you go your separate ways. It could be every other day, once a week or once every few months but it's basically just fun.

FWB's - same as the above but is more long lasting. You're more sharing about personal info, events, are able to trust what is said goes no further, can fuck like rabbits or can chill with a film, meal out, help with a house move kind of thing - are friends but have added benefits.

In both you're both able to see others, I found with fb's there was little talk of other meets as there was really no point, with fwb you should be able to as you're a lot more relaxed about what is said.
