Weekly food shopping all done this morning even though I got soaked to the skin just walking to the car when the heavens opened up, all is now calm and some blue sky is appearing and and I am in some dry clothes

I qualified for the state pension 2yrs ago but it was not worth having, so I decided to carry on working. I will try to carry on till I'm 70 but that's only 2yrs away, doubt this government will have sorted out anything by then

I've just qualified. I hope he keeps the triple lock too.

When I started work I was told I would retire at 60, it then changed to 65 which I accepted because I felt it was fair that men and women retired at the same age. The final insult was the increase to 66.

Definitely in the mature/old/over the hill/Victor Meldrew bracket! I'm very lucky to have been able to retire at 56 after forty years in the job with an excellent pension, but my god, some mornings it feels like it is indeed one foot in the grave! Can't all be bad though, we're still very active in the bedroom.....we've just hoovered up and made the bed

I probably could but not many people want to employ unfit 68yr olds, plus I may hate it but it just about pays my bills

Good morning fellow MOGs. I have taken a day off work today, as a man was supposed to come round and fix our year old freezer, but they just called to say they can't get the parts so will have to replace the freezer but have no idea when that will be. I am very annoyed to say the least

Good morning, still feeling dreadful today, sound like a dog parking when i cough and i'm coughing frequently, aching everywhere, snotty nose !! Plus have a very painful back (probably due to coughing) and left knee

I know exactly where you're coming from on that. I swear yesterday I was 34.....only that was 20 yrs ago and 1 look in the mirror tells me I haven't got the 35yr old body any more lol but I still try to rock it as best as I can

As you age conversations change, then it's the weather, work, journey into work.
