NON SMOKING

Fed up with people who say they don't smoke on their profile - and even say they won't meet smokers - and then when asked directly they say things like I don't smoke often - I can refrain at the meet if you like grrrrrrrrr we are very clear on our profile NO SMOKING OR VAPING - it's a serious health issue for us.

Grrrrrrr rant over x

We feel exactly the same. We say no smokers for a reason. Had one guy turn up who said he didn't smoke then put his pack of fags on the table as soon as he arrived. He was shown the door straight away. As the lady I can’t stand the smell on a guy at all. Why do guys lie about it? The smell lingers and is a giveaway.

I’m honest on mine, I don’t understand why people aren’t just open.

Although I’ve also had 100s of profiles that say they won’t meet smokers contact me. Fab is weird sometimes!

It is annoying and you can usually smell them anyway .

They lie as they do about their age or marital status ,to get more meets .

It might get them a meet ,but then they've tricked people like you to get that meet & it's gone no further.I too wish others would be honest in profiles ,the funniest ones say non smoker and have pics of them with a cig in their mouth or hand.

It's not just single bloke chancers - it's also couples - and often the lady who is the smoker - or vaper - he has winged it and prob told her not to smoke - then first thing she does is ask to go outside to smoke lol - glad to see we are not the only ones x

See this is the problem. You’ve just said it’s disgusting and you hate it but on your profile you say you will meet smokers

I think everyone just needs to be honest about what they want on here and most of the problems would be gone.

Honesty? Open conversation? On fab? Never see the day

The funniest message we've ever received was from a single, non-smoking guy. He sent us a 'live' picture, which means he took it there and then.

This non-smoking, single guy was so eager, he forgot to check his surroundings. A full ashtray on a side table next to his chair, plus his wedding photo hanging on the chimney breast behind him.

Smoking and valing are massively different … vaping blueberry vapour doesn’t leave any smell and if they don’t do it in the meet, why would you care? Cigarettes of course do leave a smell and we understand that. But you’ve written it as if vapes are on the same level. They just aren’t.

That said, perhaps Fab should add a vaping filter option too. That would probably be easy enough for them and it would allow for the distinction in search. It surprises me they don’t have it actually

Thanks for a well thought through response - for us though its a matter of health and the vast clouds of however sweet smelling vape are still a risk to genuinely ashmatic vulnerable lungs - you're right - a vaping filter would be good.

hahaha - our worst was a "no smoking" couple where we walked up to them for the meet at a cafe table and gues what they were both puffing away and a full ashtray in front - when asked why they said they listed as non smokers "we are giving up" - yeh right - we walked away very disappointed - by the way great profile xx

I dont drink, smoke or use drugs. Im upfront about my status and have realised as a married bloke playing alone, and being upfront about it, makes it sooo much more difficult to make contacts. From my observations on the forums I get why folks try and blag it and personally I dont mind being around smokers but def cant be around chain smokers or drugs or alcohol so I probably would be reacting the same as yourselves if I ended up in that scenario.

Yeh and that’s fair enough for sure. I just meant that if someone doesn’t vape around you, it would be impossible to get any of those effects from it. So, if someone said “I do vape but happy to not vape before or during our meet”, you’d never get those issues.

But either way, I think the reason you’ll find people who vape have no smoking ticked is because they are two different things and Fab should definitely add a filter. But just make sure you make it clear to everyone who you speak to about your problem with them and hopefully they’ll be honest. We vape but would happily not do it near or around anyone who did get some effects from it. We are actually stopping today tho to be honest as it’s just an unnecessary cost lol.

This why we are completely honest on our profile, if people can't respect your boundaries regarding smoking/vaping then surely they won't when it comes to play

It's on my profile, but people aren't honest, as noted. Or occasionally people get mad? I'm sorry my body does what my body does, it's not personal, I just try to minimise things that make me sick. (Not aimed at you - in general)
