Pegging - To coin a phrase

So for some reason I wanted to find the etymology and how the term got coined and how. Surprisingly this was quite easy to come by thanks to Google.

Unanimously it seems the term was coined by Dan Savage in a 2001 Savage love sexual advice column he used to write.

He had the following letter from a reader.

Straight Boys Have Prostates Too

Probably my favorite sex act is to be fucked by a woman wearing a strap-on. Every other sex act under the sun, from blowjobs to facials to scat, has a catchy one-word name--but not a man getting fucked in the ass by a woman wearing a strap-on. Could you come up with a name for this activity, if only for the sake of those of us who place ads in the personals?

So Dan Savage did not have an answer and welcomed his readers to submit suggestions. The tope three suggestions was:

Punt

Bob

Peg

He but it to the public vote and Pegging was born; per se.

So for an article wrote 21 years ago I am now the Prince of Pegging. Not Punting nor Bopping. I actually don't like the latter I don't think it really works. Punting though could have a nice ring to it, no pun intended.

For anyone who outdated the article was there a term used before?

For everyone else suggestions on postcard.. is there another name you could come up with it or is it now too ingrained into memories to be changed?

I am yet to come up with another name. But Cudos to Dan Savage for getting one created.

Nowadays it seems to be on trend very much! But no guys would ever speak about enjoying it in a pub

That's interesting... i remember seeing a pic of a women pegging and it lead me down a deep rabbit hole but that was before the name 'pegging', so interesting to hear about a source of that name.

I vaguely remember the act being referred to as 'strapping' on a few occasions before pegging became the norm.
