Just wondering what peoples opinions were on requesting face pics in messages?

Noticed it a lot recently, where to engage with others they want face pics.

This is something that I won’t do until I get to know others first.

It doesn't really matter. We're all free to set our own rules just as we're all free to decide whether we agree to them and do as instructed.

If you don't wanna send them right away then just don't mail that person. Easy.

Each to their own. If they want it and the other person doesn’t want to provide it then there probably wouldn’t be much of an interaction.

It comes down to trust. A non descriptive picture of boobs or bums or a penis is just that. But if I send you my face then you share it with others for example I would be a bit unhappy to put it mildly.

Club meetings are our preference so we don't have any face pics on fab or expect them from anyone else

If I'm chatting to someone and we are getting on well ,I'd expect to swap them within a reasonable time scale.

I don't expect them first message ,but if it gets left too long it could get akward then if we don't fancy each other.

I understand why some people request them instantly (although this is slightly hypocritical if they don't share one themselves!). Personally, I like to chat a little first = then reveal details such as face pics once we have established some rapport. I guess the main thing is to only ever share them when you afeel comfortable, and not because you're being pressurised.

They can ask, but they won’t receive

I wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing face pics until I’d got to know the person better. What someone chooses to share on their profile is up to them. If they don’t like what you are happy to share, they can move on to someone else

Sorry that you feel pressurised. As you can see my face is all over the site. I don't feel that my face is private in today's digital world. My face has been taken by my workplace by my volunteer job and probably by numerous photographers at events I've attended. That last one being Carnival. Furthermore, my face is on dating sites and social media.

Now my naked body, that is private to a point because I have been to the beach in France topless.

Personally if I'm intending to meet someone quite soon and I like how they reply to my messages, I'd like to see their face so I recognise them.

In all social interactions in real life the first thing we see about people is their face. So it's not really that odd in the grand scheme of things.

Of course if you are a more private person with your face, I guess you are entitled to keep it private but just be aware that faceless people are not the norm.

If you are introverted, very private or neurodivergent like me, the face picture might seem too much but it is considered neuro-typical and sociable to show your face.

Humans and even animals in general and on average cannot make a connection with no face.

that's why something like catfishing is so offensive.

No-one is being unreasonable but it's down to personal preference.

When we started our fab journey we decided we didn’t really want to share our faces over the internet. we also never expect or ask to see other peoples faces. We understand that some people make it a prerequisite to starting a conversation which is fine, we bid them farewell and happy fabbing.

We had one profile threaten to out us (share our faces, which hadn’t shared) very early on and this compounded our decision not to share. K

Very nasty of them. My face is everywhere online so I'd be happy to tell them that I will deny like a politician and report their threats to the police for harassment.

I had a friend who went through something like that. the person when and told their mother!! If I was a mother, my child's sex life is none of my business and I don't want to know!! Short of a couple of grandkids!!

We will always send our face pics in a first message, we just like to see if we are compatible etc, would never demand one back but most people send them back in the next message. We have found though that people we wouldn't necessarily be attracted to just on looks alone have been some of our best meets especially in clubs.. x

You are entitled to your opinion as others are to theirs. If something someone else wants makes you feel uncomfortable, just move on. No need to contact them further, if at all.

I wouldn't really want to spend time getting to know someone if I didn't know what they looked like. I don't mind a few messages to see if we get on alright before they send a pic but the main goal to any conversation I have on here is meeting up so I would see them anyway.

If we message first I will always attach a face pic.

I think they are our nicest photos, so best foot forward and all that

If people aren't interested it saves a lot of wasted chatting time. Plus, a person's eyes/smile would be the feature I want to see the most because that's what draws me in.

The only time I would hold off exchanging face pics is if they were so close to home I might bump into the on the school run. I'd definitely want to make sure we got on well first to avoid any potentially awkward situations

It's fair enough to ask but only if your willing to return one. Some people don't even have a public picture at all and still ask for one

This is such a refreshing attitude, the amount of times you see someone you’re attracted to on looks alone, then when you actually start talking find you have nothing in common with them. I have always got on best with people that have attracted me by their actions rather than looks. But then again I’m Mr average lol

Another point I am thinking about now Is someone send you a face pic. You are either think yes I would meet him or her. Or it's no I don't think he or she is for me. But if you actually meet them and see them face to face you can get a totally different reaction could be a lot worse or a lot better then the picture
