So someone from India, from the countryside who doesn't speak English well or know British culture well? Isn't that trying to take advantage of someone's naivety? I wouldn't want someone to want to have sex with me purely to do with the colour of my skin and where I come from. I mean men do and I do actually find it annoying.

I think the attraction, well for me anyway, is the fact that it's a bit naughty. Usually family are strict so girls are hard to engage with. I do find Asian girls attractive too

No not really… desi means really from the Indian subcontinent. Can be Pakistani, Indian , Bengali origin. British Desi folk, can be very well spoken. Knowing both the English street lingo and the more cultured.

There are a few Desi parliamentarians… so no one is seeking to take advantage!

I've usually met them at work places, nights out or even shopping. I think that you may see more as time goes on. It's a new generation, and everyone's mixing a lot more these days, which is great

I find Desi ladies very attractive, but when I was in my 20s (and they were a similar age) all of them would be married or engaged. Roll forward 20 years or so, I see quite a few divorced (or widowed) single Desi women, although very few on the scene (can't have it all ...).

We don't find it derogatory at all as we both grew up hearing it from other Indians and also, as someone else mentioned, it derives from the word Desh meaning our native country. However wouldn't necessarily say we find it endearing. It's just one of those words/labels we're used to.
