"The Son Of Hickory Holler's Tramp" - O. C. Smith

I remember this from my childhood, but until recently, never realised it was about family life, where the mother turned to prostitution to support her family after her husband abandoned her and the large family.

In Every Dream Home a Heartache - Roxy Music. Such clever song and seems more relevant 50 years on than ever.

Lose yourself by Eminem.

The most motivational song I have probably ever heard.

That guy is a musical genius IMO.

this is always so subjective. On these threads people mention writers or lyrics that I think are mediocre at best and utter shite at worst, no doubt other people think the same way about what I would suggest [they are wrong obviously as my taste is perfect ].

Anyway, there are many lyricists who have come up with amazing words, Dylan, Young, Springsteen, Seger, Henley and many, many others. Most writers have one set in them, these I mention have many

If we want lyrics about swinging how about

Blur Stereotypes, Damon is king of the rhyming couplet

Wife swapping is your future

You know that it would suit yer

And end of a century

The mind gets dirty

As you get closer to thirty

(Being young at the time little did Damon know how much dirtier it gets at forty and fifty- see the age of most here!)
