Its against fab rules to ask for money or expenses in any way and should be reported. As it was in a phone call you have no way of proving it though and admin have no way of verifying.

In that case it comes down to whether it's within *your* boundaries.

As a rule, my own self is what I would bring to a new connection/first meet.

Tea/coffee/etc being the obvious logical extra.

But I'm guessing they didn't ask for a Latte....
