Definitions change. But I think its a term levelled at females. Ask yourself how many girls were considered by you to be sluts when you were young? Then look around fab and see how many women are doing now what they wished they had done when they were younger.

Guys, including myself, are the same but I'm not sure there is a masculine term equal to a slag.

I think the origins of the term go back to when contraception was hard to obtain and girls were the ones for whom there were risks and consequences.

Slut used to be an insult, now in the right context it can sometimes be taken as a compliment. So the definition is imo someone who is very promiscuous.
