Just wonder how many have turned up for a meet after pre planning only for messaging to cease when you arrive and no show, happens too often

Had plenty go radio silent / ghost us after saying they want to / will meet (planned in advance) over the years. Those we just write off as we never even get out of the front door for those. Also had a few cancel at the last moment (which we have had to do as well...life gets in the way). We find those who confirm with us on the day show up.

But in 25 years (on or off fab) never actually been stood up on a normal meet. Had plenty not show for social events we've arranged but plenty of others turned up so you dont notice.

I've had a couple of gents back out hours before the planned time of meeting and they have then blocked me.

Ive had to change plans due to family reasons

Happens to us all. I've had several couples let me down at the last minute with a bullshit excuse, after demanding proseco, chocolates and other stuff to be on hand. Then never re-arrange.

I once drove York for a meet only to be mugged off! She Kept playing me on saying ive just got company...and ive just got to sort something out....And I sat in a service station for about 6 hrs like a pillok so got hit with a fine! £60! Plus the petrol it cost me...very embarrassing indeed What a fool i was . Lesson learned there I can tell you.

Rule of thumb.

If they're not well verified or verified at all, be cautious. If they start asking for shit beyond the basics of condoms or bring your own drinks (situation dependant) get the hell out of Dodge. If you get to a meet and they leave you hanging for more than 30 mins without a message (people can and do run late), leave. If they still have you waiting over an hour later without a a solid explination (its easy to check traffic or trains for example on your phone)...just pack up and go home. They're taking the piss.

Yeah, some.people are genuinly caught off guard and run late through no fault of their own and.ypu can take the risk but most of the time, if someone sounds like they are mugging you off it's because they are on here.

They are a hard lesson but one you only should learn once.

I've been ghosted a few times at the last minute. Turned up to a meet tears ago and there was a no show. That's the only time that's happened. I'm a bit more diligent nowadays.

I had to cancel a meet last Monday at the very last minute. I think she thought I was blagging her, but we had a great meet this morning instead.

She now knows I wasn't full of shit.

Spot on advice.

In 15+ yrs swinging together, been stood up twice. Both times by single guys...

1) A guy we were meeting went radio silent on us the night before. Decided to ring him next morning (we were going to a hotel anyway) and he answered. Caught off guard he told is his brother surprised him and flew in from Italy. We were like “fair enough but were you going to tell us?” Few days later spotted a verification (this was when we met via another site) and he had gone to a party instead!

2) We had arranged a MMMMF at an Air BnB. An hour or so before one of the guys messages saying sorry not coming. When asked why he said “too much meat”! So we had a MMMF instead lol.

Otherwise been pretty lucky (and pretty switched on we hope - choosing play partners carefully and mostly meeting people via parties and clubs rather than websites and then making further arrangements for future meets)

Yes pics were exchanged. Maybe he didn't like that I was a bit more woman than he was expecting. No idea.

Had another that I was meeting in the city. I got the bus as I hate trying to park in the city centre. Got off the bus and he clearly didn't like that it had taken me 45 mins to get that far and just blocked me. I couldn't exactly turn round and get back on the bus I had just got off so hung about for an hour till the next one.

But yes, consider it a bullet dodged. Thers a a given number of fantasist no doubt wanking off arranging meets and then bottling it on the run up on here. Comes with the territory.

On one hand, sucks if you're on the receiving end. On the other, had my.share of "we got stood up, are you free now" booty calls so I'd be a liar if I said other peoples poor behaviour has not worked in my favour in the past..

But back on point. There are some obvious red flags people should be watching out for on here. Should.really.be common k owledge stuff when it comes to fab but isn't the case sadly. Dosent make meets fool proof but should make sure you're less likely to be bamboozled.

Most annoying is booking nice hotel and it goes wasted despite all the planning, then the individuals/couples just vanish or block me.

We feel the same - yes it’s nice if people are verified, but not everyone will have lots of opportunities, eg we live in a rural part of the country, there’s less of a scene, meets generally involve a night away and we aren’t into online or phone socials This is why we take a lot of time chatting to people and getting to know them rather than rushing into meeting up. We’ve found you get a feel for people after a while…

We meet seperetly. Make it very clear on our couples and single profiles. We are well verified etc.etc etc. Litterally.to.the point if anything was a lie then I deserve an Oscar at this point.given the effort I've gone to, to.create and maintain a bunch of fake profiles.

I've lost track of the amount of couples and single ladies I've approached on fab over the last decade who have been looking.for a single.guy just to be told "sorry, won't meet married men" just to.see the same.people crying the sites full of fakes on an update later that day or week.

I'm not telling anyone who to meet. I'm.not telling anyone what their criteria should be but if your gonna decry everyone as fake whilst ignoring obvious real people due to a ridiculous "no married guys rule" especially if you're a married couple then you bring it in yourself.

I've never stood anyone up or had anyone do it to me but I find I get very few responses and even fewer meets. Last meet I did have told me I was the first to turn up for her in some time. This was fine for me as she was lovely and I had a thoroughly good time but seems to fit with other messages here. As others mention, the joy of fab.

We've blocked people on the run up to meets purely because we've said a time.and a place days before (after they asked for a meet) and they never bothered to respond or confirm. That the only time but if you can't be bothered to reply a simple confirmation then you're not likely to turn up anyway.not gonna waste the following next day "hoping" we get a message and see no reason why we should chase either.

Not stood up but some strange recent experiences!

A couple messaged me asking to meet. However they hate pubic hair as it “doesn’t serve any purpose.”

I jokingly said that it stops chaffing but regardless that I didn’t have any.

They no longer wanted to meet me as they had “different views on pubic hair.”

Fast forward a few weeks and I get a message about 2230 on a weekend evening. Do I fancy a meet?

“Of course, when?” I ask.

“Now.”

“But I’ve had a few glasses of wine.”

“Can’t you get a mate to drop you off? They can join in.”

“Umm, no. I don’t mix vanilla with Fab.”

“Well it’s tonight or never.”

So I guess it’s a never from me then!!!!

I blocked 2 this very week for fannying around. You either want to meet or you don't. It's really simple.

Being cancelled in is now the norm on here.

A lot of trust is needed to get me in a car nowadays.

I never meet without a social first. Or alternatively via club so not fussed if they don't turn up. I have a rule that no matter what if they don't turn up or give me fair warning there is no 2nd opportunity

Ive been cancelled on 4 times in 5 weeks, twice whilst on my way. Its not just men that get cancelled on. And directly accused of being a scammer twice as well! I guess some people are up for the chat but get paranoid and talk themselves out of it when push comes to shove!

Have been chatting with the husband for a few weeks, about how his wife wanted to be fucked. He said it was all sorted it and she was well up for it. And it was organised for yesterday.

I cannot drive due to health issues so travelled on 3 buses which took 2.5 hours and chatting all the way, saying she was ready and waiting and could not wait for me to get there. I duly arrived to be met at the door by a flustered husband who told me that she knew nothing about it as he hadn’t even mentioned it to her.

I left straightaway without even an apology and he had the audacity to come up with a scenario which involved me phoning her to tell her that I was watching her and have naked pics of her ( which he had taken and sent to me ) Needless to say I told him to do one. He hasn't even got the bottle to tell her that he had set it up without her knowledge.

Unfortunately I don't get many replies or invites on here and it makes me reticent of accepting invites in the future. He is on here again asking for meets so will be warning others. I think I had a lucky escape.

I’ve not been stood up in 8 years of swinging, but it’s amazing how many social meets are cancelled at very short notice. I’ve lost count of how many.

Funnily enough this never happened with play meets

I almost always ask for a social first these days, it helps sort out the good from the bad

I did post this below a few days ago n as you see at the bottom thread was closed.

To me it looked like a good idea.

But looking like whoever runs the site is OK with people getting messed around n stood up.

So many people on this site have been let down by time wasters, arranging meets n people not showing up.

What I think that would improve this is, if 2 lots of people who may arrange a meet it then should be registered on this site n then after the meet you then confirm if the 2nd part turned up or not n this should be made accessible to all to view.

So for example if someone arranges a meet n you can see that they have arranged 10 meets in the past n have only turned up to 1 of them then you know there's a 90% chance they won't turn up n you know where you stand.

I have been let down quite a few times by time wasters as a single male n as a couple n on the few occasions when I have had meets I hear the same thing from others about being let down.

Myself I think this would be a big benefit to users aswell as the site, especially with the high costs of travel then only to be let down n when you do confront the people who don't turn up to meets they go ahead n block you n no doubt go ahead n do the same thing to someone else.
