Okay, so we've got to get this off our collective chests...

Why are there so many couples on the meet today page who don't actually want to meet?

Our situation right now is that due to a family bust up several weeks ago we lost our regular babysitter which means that if we do get a free evening these days it's as often as not at an afternoon's notice and then generally on a Saturday evening, that means if we're on the meet today we're there to (and this might sound totally bizzare to some of you) actually meet on that day, unlike lots of people who just seem to put themselves up on that page day after day.

We actually spent a whole afternoon a couple of Saturday's ago trying to arrange a last minute meet, we think that it went along the lines of banging our heads against a brick wall for five hours solid, 80% of the messages that we sent weren't even replied to and the few couples that did reply just wanted to chat on MSN or get to know us better... Grrrr!

We gave up in the end and went to bed with a bottle of vodka, some triangular shaped pills, each other, a thing of Durex lube and a box of toys and we had the time of our lives but it still begs the question. Why?

Serious answer - because it's a microcosm of life, and those types exist in life, and therefore in here too. I go onto other forum (fori?) as I'm sure many others do, and each and every one has a huge number of idiots, fakes, fantasists and trolls. On some sites I'm probably IN some of those groups!

It is a "MEET TODAY" page where people can post themselves as being available to meet on certain dates, today or on that day hence etc

It isnt a "WE WILL MEET ANYONE REGARDLESS" page, so maybe the people that were advertising that day were

too far away

not within your own criteria for meeting

not looking for people who dont have profile pictures

not looking for people who are not verified (hidden verifications being not worth the paper etc)

y'know maybe that on that day you just didnt find the right couple that wanted to meet you, (trust me we get that all the time and can rarely find people who like us but that life) its no reason to bad mouth the many genuine people on the page

I agree with the OP on this one it is more frustrating than anything else.

Possibly it will be better if you could do more of an advanced search in the meet today.

it could also be that those on there have already set something up for the day too, and like most people do not reply to mails unless theres a good reason to do so.

it's also a matter of choice's too, and the freedom to make those choices based on preference's be it personal or otherwise.

To the original poster how many times have you been contacted for what ever reason and not replied for what ever reason, and in doing so how many people do you think you might have given reason to be upset because you didn't reply, you see it works both ways in theis life, for every action there is an equal and opposit reaction, so like me just bear with it put up with the ignorance shown by some and the genuine ones will rise to the surface soon enough

Okay, So we've read this reply several times and from several different angles and we could, if we were cynical or pedantic, read into it a slight criticism of our profile or our motives, but because we're actually pretty egalitarian people we won't.

What we will do however is to explain why our verifications and our friends list are hidden and why we don't post our pictures on our profile...

This is actually our second profile on this site within the space of nine months, we had to remove our original profile due to a certain couple who attempted to bad-mouth us to everyone who they talked with and also to several couples who we previously met as well.

This pair made a specific effort to talk to or to meet everyone from our friends list and to attempted to drag ourselves down to their level even though we accomodated them on two occasions, fed them, wined them, gave them our bed while, after play we slept on an air mattress in the spare room, they even left us stunning feedback, sorry verification, on both occasions whilst they attempted to stab us in the back, that verification really wasn't worth the paper that it was written on, but we moved on and started again this time less like e-bay and more like well... Grown up and discrete adults we suppose.

As for our pictures? We don't have pervy pic-collector ones anymore, we used to have heaps of them on our old profile for all to see, if you want to see what Tab looks like when she's sucking cock or what Scott's arse looks like these days then we're afraid that you'll just have to come and meet us, but we do have a couple of face photo's that are clear and up to date that we will be more than happy to send to anyone who we exchange messages with, just so that they know what we look like.

Then of cause it's up to them whether they want to meet us or not. We really don't have anything to hide and what's more, we don't put our Klingon cloaking device on when we look at other peoples profiles either unlike, dare we say it? Some people out there.

As for the whole meet today page, we weren't bad mouthing anyone but the time wasters, the dreamers and the nepotistic wankers. We know that there are a lot of genuine people out there but there are also a lot of people with dubious motives as well.

I do not normally agree with couples (due to their attitudes towards single men), but on this, I feel you Scott and Tab, this place has become rampant with dreamers and timewasters..

Thank you for that and by the way, we don't have any kind of attitude to single guys either, well apart from the fact that we used to get about 50 messages a day from single guys and it got so ridiculous in the end that we had to put the blocker on to stop our outlook express from overheating.
