Cap D'agde advice!

Hey guys. We went to Cap last year in mid July and had a great time. We did book at the complete last minute though as exam stress called for a break!

We're planning to go again this year but with a bit more forward planning. When would you say the best time is to go?

Also, because we can't remember the rice differences any more, which area inside the resort is the best the stay in for a couple with a pretty low budget? The Heliopolis looked pretty cool from the outside.

Advice appreciated, thanks guys!

Many peps go in june as its a bit cheaper but the weather can be changable, June is high season so expect to pay top price, late September and the cap is starting to wind down, we stay at Heliopolis as you can tell by our pics, they have a great range of different apartments, try booking with agn, if you like drinking water you should have a cheap holiday as the price of drinks there is horrendous grrrrr

Yeah. Did you see the price list in the enclosed area with the massive hot tub? £70 for a vodka red bull or something stupid. We like water :P

We're going for two weeks so it's going to be an expensive one but looks like it'll have to be June. We don't want to be missing all the hotties :P

Last week in June is great, if you going to two weeks then one either side of that.

Depend how much you think is expensive, we get a decent sized apartment in Port Nature for about £450 a week, which is reasonable.

We always stay in Port Nature. It is a much more social area than the others.. Once in your apartment in the Heliopolis, you are in! Yes you can look out on the people below if you get one facing inwards, but in Port Nature you have walkways that are used by many people to get about. We have made some very good friends by having drinks on the walkways

Somewhere in the middle is good. Colline2 & 3 are great. Away from the noise and still bang in the middle of the "promenading"

Port Nature in June/ early July or September is good.

August at the Cap attracts a lot of French families and les flicks turn out in force to protect them from 'nefarious' activities. It's also incredibly hot.

HOT like you wouldn't believe.

If you're looking at Port Nature Collines, make sure you're facing towards the Med (southish). More to see and more sun.

We stayed in the campsite in August - didn't spend much time in the tent though

"We stayed in the campsite in August - didn't spend much time in the tent though"

There's usually security controls (for sensible reasons) about who gets in and out of the campsite.

That's not very conducive to casual meets on the beach or around the shops and bars.

We were avoiding the stalkers hanging around the shops

Needed a wrist band to get in and out - but right next to the beach in the day and just across the road for the bars in the evening. If you're on a tight budget it's fine. Depends on how much time you're planning to spend indoors I guess.

Communal mixed naked showers are an experience to have!

Communal naked showers are the norm across mainland Europe. It's only in the UK we find that a bit wierd.

Having spoken to campers over the years there's no doubt it's an OK option, but not ideal.

lmao well we don't get out much but thanks for the benefit of your worldliness - Europe's in Germany isn't it?

For the benefit of the original poster - if you want cheap and you're happy in a tent it's fine and we didn't find it limiting in any way - quite the opposite. Failing that others have suggested alternatives already - either way enjoy, wish we were making plans too

Yeah, but don't expect Merkel to admit it.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think we'll be looking at port nature as it's the same price at the heliopolis room we found and sounds a lot better. Either way it'll be better than last year. We got a place for 200 euros, but it was an hours walk each way to get there!

I'll be letting the boss organise the room this year... :P
