I’m not after profile advice

But gents and couples what do you look for in a woman’s profile. I have seen critiques of male profiles but what do you look for?

Is it just an answer?

The photos?

The bio?

What does it need to say?

I receive so many crude or cut and paste messages it makes me think the bio actually means nothing

A very lovely profile too.

I don't mind a few pictures , just enough to tease your imagination ( yes I know I've only got 2 on display haha)

I like some information about yourself, likes/dislikes and what your looking for.

A profile that showcases you and not a stand few lines.

This may be just us and selective thinking but when a female member contacts us first we find that their profile seems to have more meaning but like we say that might just be us.

We have met single women where we contacted them first ,so with us we guess it’s the first contact to show confidence it what they are doing because confidence is most of the time a great attraction.

My experience on here tell me that at least 99.9% of men don't read the profile. They just look at the photos and those who do who don't match your criteria will still message you, in case you change your mind about what you like?

We tend to look for profiles where the woman seems like she has been thoughtful about what she’s written, and her personality comes across in some way. That’s what we look for in messages too, and it’s been a fairly good indicator for us as to when contact will lead anywhere towards a real meet, and if we’ll get on if and when we do meet.

We are newbies but initially received lots of messages so subsequently, we read lots of profiles. We look for a photo verification, some effort in the text, and no arrogance. I know you were not looking for profile advice but I think you have yours about right, it's informative, let's people know where they stand and is not arrogant.

Someone that actually says something interesting. How are we (men) supposed to write something back, when we have nothing to go on?

Men are visual creatures (women are as well otherwise I'd be inundated with messages - I'm not btw!) so we need a photo, not necessarily nude.

Someone who joins, and logs back in again. The number of profiles that say, joined 6 months ago. Last log in 6 months ago. What is the point of that?

I know this is a common thread theme, but please an accurate (ish) description would also be nice (yes I know men can be just as guilty).

And if you say you write back, please do so...

Like any profile it needs to show effort and consistency. If the pics don't reflect the bio or visa versa it's a red flag and definite no.

The same with verifications. If the bio claims to be shy or reserved but the pics are all gynaecological and the veris intimately detailed then once again it's a no.

Many would argue that women and couples don't have to make an effort on here which is true but then again if they don't they can't really point the finger at the quality of profiles that see them as like minded souls and send lots of lazy messages.

I’ll scan pics to see if I find them attractive, then I read profiles until I’m put off by something or I’m not what they’re looking for. If it’s a really negative or prescriptive profile I’ll move on. Interests are also important for me.

If I like the pics and bio I’ll always look at veris too, but the very first thing I look at is are you looking for single men or not and have you blocked my age.

Location, written text, if we think there will be mutual attraction, if they meet smokers etc.

To be honest, we have to look at it as a "will they like us, do.we offer what they want, do we have no nos for them and most importantly, will they come to us or live local-ish. If all if the above is good. Ultimetly we can't run off around the country to meet woman no matter who she is so we just try to be realistic.

True. Just be yourselves, be honest about who you are, what you want and hope for the best. Not much else you can do.

Personally I like a profile that outlays what they’re looking for first. It saves time reading the rest of the profile.

There is a line though, if it’s just a “shopping list” then I’ll move on quickly.

Hey.

I like a profile that stands out and is a little different.

- A distinctive profile pic, enticing

- I’m ambivalent about nudity/action pics

- A profile that shows effort. Is clear.

- Dislike puerile comments but love humour

- You may have had a lot of shit responses, but try not to be too aggressive or negative. Just be clear.

- Txt speak and two liners; no thanks.

I prefer a profile that says what they want rather than what they don't want first. It just seems more positive and welcoming. Those people who disregard your wants aren't likely to read the bio anyway!

I get a bit fed up when I read a bio that seems a little bitter and twisted and is essentially a list of hoops to jump through.

Something personal that you are happy to share is always an interest catcher for me. Humour or a bit of personality showing through.

Good photos, without a huge emoji face stuck in the middle of it.

Last but not least, you can never please everyone, but you can be happy with yourself.

I like your profile and I was interested when you said about English not being your first language.

It's interesting because well, you're now somehow a more exotic person!

Secondly, it's important when you are chatting to someone as the written word is easy to misinterpret, doubly so if it's not your mother tongue. So that's really useful info.
