Being randomly called a slut

What’s everyone’s opinion on being randomly called a “slut” in a first message from a stranger?

Turn off, or turn on?

Lately I’ve noticed a lot of men try it as an opening line.

Would never use the term in a first message, unless of course it was specifically requested as it is definitely not something everyone sees as a term of endearment.

Great example of natural selection. I'd block & delete without reading their message.

Some of the first messages are awful. Call me anything like that and it’s a block

But more laughable is when you get a message. Don’t reply. And suddenly you’re a slut.

Amazing how people show their true colours so quick

Depends on the context and who its coming from.

My wife (and i) would be angry if some random fella sent a message calling her one. But I once had a lady message "You're a bit of a naughty slut aint you. I love it" directly to me and I won't lie, I didn't not like it.

But in general, no, don't want it from a stranger and wouldn't say it to a stranger but once we are not strangers....well that is a different story and down to preference.

No wonder single women hide their profiles, ultra fussy who they want to meet and block single men from sending the first message. Majority of the messages I used to recieve was very demoralising and somewhat abusive. Yuck.

Never in an opening message - instant block.

Depending on the dynamic, it might be a term we’d use (or accept being called) once we really get to know them, but never in the early days.

I’m sure the novelty will wear off after you get dozens of unattractive men calling you it weekly, along with detailed the things they want to do to you.

All before even saying hello.

It’s gross

If its a random 1st message then no way would I use that language. You have to earn that kind of trust and respect to be able to call anyone degrading names and even then its only if they like the term. It's like pet names...unless you've built that connection just don't use them. After all it's a person. Treat them as such

It's a kink in itself so needs to be approached as such. Some deluded guys have no idea of the nuances of the whole Dom/sub dynamics and the kinks that can go hand in hand with this. I do feel very sorry for anyone who gets called any names without having given consent.

Couldn't agree more... I love it in the right situation with the right person, but I would never dream of calling/ saying someone's a slut as what works for me may be seriously offensive for someone else.... hound calls me his slut and I'm instantly horny..... a stranger calls me a slut and they're likely to get a slap lol.

Well chesty is k own as my fuck toy, dirty cum slut, dirty fucking slag and my cock sleeve. But god forbid anyone calls her any of that and we'll there's 17st of me to deal with. And that's if my lovely lady doesn't smack them first.

I wouldnt dream of calling anyone else any derogatory term unless there was a bond and had been told it was ok. Same as I'd never call anyone my sub until they have given me their submission. These things are earned in our lifestyle

I think like any word it just depends on the context. If you’re trying to use it to offend me then I’m going to take that badly, if you’re using it to dirty talk and I know you’re a respectful bloke then that’s hot. I don’t think we’re sluts for liking sex, if it wasn’t meant to be enjoyed they wouldn’t have made it feel so good.

Exactly!! Respect boundaries and you'll find more people receptive to you. The more of an arsehole the more you'll realise that the community as a whole is such a small place and once your names known for the wrong reasons it's hard to undo that damage

It's nothing to do with not embracing my sexual desires or not being open minded I just dislike the term and have no intention of owning it or embracing it.Its a turn off for me.In saying that i understand why other women enjoy the term and I guess it's a good thing we all aren't the same or it would get pretty boring. .B.

Interesting discussion, for me personally the word will never be reclaimed (in the same way some older folks won't stand the term queer), I have used it in the past during humiliation roleplay but now I don't care even for that.

My observations: 1. those that self-characterise as sluts mean it in an array of different senses; and 2. the majority of people using slut to describe others use it dismissively as OP outlined (I am sorry you have to experience so much of it here OP), or as a straight up insult. Therefore I don't care for it, it's a word still steeped in misogyny, transmisogyny, sex negativity and sexism. What good is it if a minority believe a slut is someone in charge of their sexual power, when the majority think a slut is a low value sexual object?

Exactly - we love the word, and so do most women we meet, but that’s understood through communication. Firing it off on a first message is for people who don’t understand consent.
