Romancing FB or waste of money ??

The other day i was chatting to a mate off here and was telling him that me and one person i met a few times off here have been out for a couple of meals and drinks

His reply was "all that expense just for a shag"

Now ok im now older and wiser since me birthday the other week; but i not lost liking people for things other than sex....so

Whats your take on this ???

i've met many people on here socially for meals etc some for shags after others not. if both parties agreeable where's the harm in having some adult company and also finding out a bit about the person. could lead to better sex afterall.

it would depend as well whether you are expected to pay for everything or the female pays for some - this could influence your friends point of _iew.

F.B's are great for fulfilling a need but if you get on socially as well then what's the harm in enjoying a meal/drink or outings with them as a friend?

Me and Vincent only started off as F.B's but we had a lot more in common with eachother than than we did with our normal friends so it was perfect for outings, ect if one of us wanted to go and see a movie or visit somewhere that our normal friends weren't really interested in,

Over time it just naturally developed into a relationship, so you never know where it will lead, but it doesn't HAVE to, that's the beauty of it.

Beware of free loaders who insist of the gent paying everything just for a bit of fun.

It takes 2 to Tango, therefore if the gent is stupid enough to go along with it, then he only has himself to blame for the amount he has to cough up.

I've met people on here socially and had a great time. If you enjoy their company then it makes the whole experience more enjoyable in my eyes.

If you think about it he isn't _iewing women as prostitutes, he's _iewing a fb relationship for what it is mutual no strings sex. Accepting payment for sex is prostitution and this guy's mate is saying the opposite

Do it if you want to, not because you think you should.

Personally I am happy to pay for a meal or drinks but I don't want to romance anyone, I'm not looking for a relationship. And the more you do that kind of stuff the more likely I'd have thought one or both of you may become emotionally involved. Fine if that's what you want.

That's the same as me and my OH, we met got on really well and started off as f/b's but then it developed into a relationship, that was 7 years ago x

I've never had a meet buy me anything but I think that's more because I don't do that. Or didn't. Not sure if I would change.

After 4 years of meeting just for a shag, I met someone who is an absolute gent (away from the bedroom), now I find myself in a relationship, something I never expected from such a site. Stay true to who you are and you never know what is around the corner, karma works in mysterious ways.

i have to admit i have never gone for a meal with anyone i have met off her, the idea of sitting and eating with someone i have met from here just does not appeal to me

I have however been for drinks etc i dont see as spending a bit of money while you get to know someone before sex as a waste of money

Because I am very picky about who I meet with, I tend to get on with them very well, and that can mean dinner, movies, etc. as that is what I do with friends.

Sometimes get a pang of longing for a little romance too, but don't let it show. Don't want to spoil any friendships with unwanted romantic gestures.

NEVER think of it like that. I'm quite old-fashioned, in that I usually pay when with a female. Shared costs with a male. Would be more than happy to pay for drinks, with good company, with no expectation of anything more.

I have a lovely friend who i go out to the movies etc with. We take it in turns to pay. For example, i buy the food, he buys the cinema ticket or vice versa. If we go somewhere like a club or a social do here, if i buy the tickets, he will buy the drinks. It works for us, and we happy with this arrangement.

Any sniff of 'romance' and I'd be off like a shot. I really can't stand getting bought flowers or chocolates, it just seems like a waste of money.

Chatting over a drink/ having a meal and spending time together means much more to me.

I'd like a regular FB, now if you take that as 'Fu*k Buddy' or 'Friend with Benefits' it seems to me it means more than just meet up occasionally for a shag!

I'm not saying it has to be a regular GF BF type thing but I do think the odd day or night out and weekend away should be on the cards.

One chap in particular from here has become a great friend, it doesn't make it 'Romance' we've been loadsa places together, he even came to a family wedding with me, which still makes me laugh to think of my fuckbuddy being in the family album lol! It's nice to have a mate to do things with and have the physical stuff too... still no strings, just mucho respect and good times

When I first joined, I was meeting people just for a shag.. Mechanical sex felt so boring and empty, especially if the sex is just mediocre.. Or worse..

Then one guy took me out proper and the whole experience was much better.. The sex was amazing! Probably because we've gotten slightly more comfortable with each other. And because of that, now I prefer meeting socially first (drinks or food) and going with the flow rather than planning which position he's going to fuck me.. Since then I've met and enjoyed more nice men, the social bit will sometimes make up for the bad/mediocre sex..

P.s: helps that I have a food fetish and gets really horny after good food..
