Went there for our first time today and indeed our first time on a nudist beach....fantastic beach but feck its a trick. Anyone else go there

Bridlington.

I live Fairlight Glen and though the walk there and back is quite long it's a part of the pleasure if the visit.

The last bit down to the beach can be a little slippery but fine if one is sensible.

It’s a real trek down… took the bike once (never again)..

Lovely spot and it was nice to see it respectfully busy last time I went. Aiming to go again in a few weeks, let me know if anyone wants a piggy back up the hill…

I used to go there twenty five years ago -- there used to be a carpark and a café just before the hike down to the seafront.

Then, about ten years ago I went back and it was completely different -- the route was overgrown and derelict and I couldn't find my way to the track as it was so different.

Does this mean it's been restored / reopened?

No the path is still overgrown, the parking is now at the top of the hill, and the lovely cafe has long gone.

For all that, it's stil worth the treck.

Was the original café on Barley Lane?

I vaguely remember two carparks, one by the café (now overgrown) and the other one on the opposite side of the road -- but it's been so long now my memory is a bit ropey.

It's a shame it wasn't maintained.

That's correct. As you walk down you can take the left fork towards the old tea rooms and the overgrown path, or the right fork following the private road to a signpost on the left. Adds about 10 minutes to the walk, but the views over Hastings are very nice.

Path is still there, and no better or worse than previous years in most places, but the drop down onto the beach after you get to the bottom is a bit further. Some of the more secluded bits behind the beach have gone with the winter cliff falls.

Never been, always fancied it but the magical mystery tour of the secret path down puts me off.

I'll probably stick to bghs roof terrace, eurekas or maybe head west and try studland,for naked sunbathing this year

It's not the worst thing about Fairlight...the climb back is the killer. If it wasn't for the peace and serenity I wouldn't bother...lol

For those that want to find this nudist beach, there's a coastal path between Hastings East Hill to Fairlight Coast guard station.

There's a path down nudist beach off of this in Fairlight Glen at the What3Words coordinates ///modest.accordion.tickets

Follow that at you'll see a tree painted with NUDE BEACH, there's a steep climb down, theres a rope & makeshift steps.

Lovely spot I’ve been going for years and will venture again once the weather picks up. The walk down and back is part of the fun and can sometimes be done nude. Once on the beach it’s best to walk East if your looking for fellow swingers and do watch the tide doesn’t cut you off.

Yes, about 10yds before you get onto the beach theres a path to the left, this goes into a wooded area, you can follow this path for 5mins, with various clearings & pathways, I’ve stumbled upon all sorts happening along there, mostly men looking for men.

Be aware that there can be a fair amount of genuine naturists & innocent hikers in the woods too, especially at high tide when the sea pushes people off of the beach.
