Not having to get on the train up to town is a start - although the A/C on those is generally quite good, the tube followed by sitting in a room with ventilation only via windows was not a great prospect. Staying in the shady parts of the house with sun-facing shutters closed seems to be working, plus a cold shower or two later.

Shorts and loose short sleeves shirt, windows facing the sun closed, windows facing away cracked open, two fans on full to get air moving through the flat, and all curtains closed. Have jug of water chilling in fridge, and periodically empty half into a glass and half into a thermos then refill and drink from the glass and thermos for steady supply of chilled water. Lunch and dinner are cold meals chilling in the fridge, and I have magnums to break up the day with a nice ice cream. Also splashing water on face every half hour or so. Flat is currently 5 degrees below outside temperature (28/33), waiting to see what happens!
