Just curious if others have had similar experiences. I know it's quite normal to build up the fantasy in your head before meeting someone. By looking at their pics and chatting to them, you conjure an image in your head of what could happen. Then when you meet them it all deflates in a matter of seconds. Then you have to plan your exit strategy so you don't offend them. I've had this happen to me a few times over the years. But occasionally it's the other way round! where someone looks so much better than their pics, It's true a personality can't be caught in a photo. But some people just come across so much better in person. I'm wondering if others have had similar experiences??

Also some pics could have been an accurate match to the real life person at some point but as some pics were taken years+ ago, people leave them on the profile. You can see when they were taken so not really being tricked.

As per earlier posters this is why an initial social is advisable

Also I try and ensure prior to meeting they’ve seen an honest full length pic so no claims of “I didn’t think you looked like that” and I’m honest on profile about size/shape I know I’m not for everyone - nobody is - so good to do all you can before meeting to make compatibility more likely

I'm very open that I'm curvy from the start, have met one or 2 guys that definitely lied about their age. One guy met me for coffee, came into coffee shop looked me up and down, walked straight back.out.

Exactly, we agree with that 100%! On a couple of occasions, we've actually been sat in a bar/coffee shop and when the said person/people have come in, we didn't know it was them because they/he looked nothing like the photos on the profile? It can be awkward!

I dont "picturegate" any of my pics apart from colour, and sometimes use the blurr function to hover the carpet.

If we are meeting i always slip in 1 or 2 of my worst ish pics in a messages before hand...lol

This is why my pic are all from the last year and from different angles. I've only met one person from online that looked like their picture. Another I'd actually known for over 20 years and didn't recognise them from the pictures they sent.

This happened toe when I was on POF. What made it awkward was in her profile she gave it all stating the fella hardtop be this tall, on shape blah blah the usual stuff

. With all that sass I though surely she must be a super model then & her pics were alright good angles & stuff (no full length though! I missed that clue). Let's just say when we meet for the date

yeah . What was portrayed & what was delivered

if she was a meal iwould have sent back to the kitchen & asked for a refund lol. But I wasn't mean we stayed for our date even paid & politely said 'you are lovely but just not for me thanks'

I'm a total catfish.

Put on a tonne of weight in last six months (chemo can go either way, mine went the wrong way).

Facial peach fuzz and moustache seem to be resilient af while the eyebrows and lashes fucked off on a holiday.

Only one tit to my name and one I have left... well, it's facing south lol

I do love good camera angles and lighting, I only post photos of myself where I look good to my own standards.

All that said...

I am completely honest with people who I intend to meet about everything that has happened and that is happening right now and I would never meet anyone for sex without meeting them socially first.

I hated the thought of misleading someone so took a nude that shows the hideous bits.

Mrs is the same, she is very tactful with her angles and admittedly filters some of her pictures.

We also state in our bio that we don’t have slim figures so if that’s not what people are looking for that we aren’t for them!

We are ugly in pictures and in real life, so not an issue.

In reality a lot of people are self conscious about aspects of their body and won't be very forthcoming in "showing off" but it takes only a minute or so to read a profile and body type is there for all to read. Loads of people will explain in their bio's that they are one thing or another have these bits and such. Social meets and club meets help people decide on physical attraction and the personality of the person. And through experience some of the best times have been with people we subjectively wouldn't say were "perfect" looking (they weren't "ugly" by the way)

I always worry about this for myself. I don't use filters etc though and been told many times I look like my pics.

I do always expect a little difference, I generally put the best photos of myself up so expect others to do the same. There's been no huge discrepancies so far lol

I often wonder about this. I’m always concerned my stretch marks or my cellulite will put them off. I’d be mortified if a guy met me and was disappointed yet at the same time I only post my most flattering angles! I like to be transparent in my profile though…I’m chubbier IRL for sure! Pahahaha x

I have seen some profile pics of gorgeous girls then I read their profile I see in bio saying they are a size 18 yet the profile pic certainly does not look anything like that of a size 18 and some pics you can even tell they are breathing in .. do people actually realise when you breathe in just at top of i think is ribcage ( I don't know the name of the bone lol ) it sticks right out does make me giggle x
