Hi, We're thinking of hosting a party at our house, we haven't held one before so wondered if anyone had any advice, good ideas, what to avoid, that sort of thing. Any pointers to make it a good night would be much appreciated. Cheers everyone

Haven’t organised anything at home, but we have been talking about arranging a small social event somewhere private since there’s not really any social scene in our part of the country. Would love to know how you get on with it - good luck!

If things are kind of slow a game of some sort is always good to kick thing off. We have always found a game with the sex dice or truth or dare good to get things going

Firstly be warned organising a 'gathering' as I call my groups sessions is hard work.

Be prepared for all sorts of inane and irrelevant questions but exercise patience as those very people may prove to be stars!

Look for verifications, that indicates that they are more likely to turn up.

Don't dismiss newbies, they may be plucking up courage to take that first step but don't rely on them.

Invite more than you need as you will get the inevitable fab-timewasters & genuine fta's.

How many people are you thinking of inviting?

Maybe have a small party first. Invite 3 or 4 couples and give them all each other's profile names so they can chat before the day. Then have fun.

Our observations…

Over invite. You will get drop outs. Assume 25% will bail.

Invite people you personally know. Don’t be swayed by others wanting to invite their friends.

Ensure a good balance of personalities.

Don’t do too much food! Easy on the stomach is good as well.

Be clear which areas can be played in.

Provide plenty of clean up materials.

Oh and enjoy it! It’s supposed to be fun

Yes I was thinking small to start with might be a good idea, but i like the idea of all chatting together first, thanks!
