Hi all

It seems a little harsh you can be blocked without having to give a reason.

Been recently messaging with another member, even got “friended” then out of the blue they blocked me.

I think an explanation should be given.

Anyone else experienced this or also agree you should be obliged to give a reason.

You don't have to give an explanation in any other place online when you block someone.

Why should Fab be any different?

It would open you up to a whole load of abuse if you had to give reasons

There's so Soo many different reasons for blocking.

Could very well not be anything to do with you at all..

Best not to over think it, is good advice.

Hope you feel better about it soon.

There's always a reason. You won't know it. You probably wouldn't like it if you did.

My take is that if someone gives a reason, you’ll not agree with it, there then ensues an argument over who is right. In the end it’s their reason and, whether you agree or not, it’s their decision, so time to move on as you can’t be everyone’s cup of tea or they may have other things going on. Life’s too short to ponder on rejections, move to pastures new

The reason is either that their profile has been suspended by admin or they no longer wish to interact with you.

Somewhere in Co. Down

Their reason is they no longer want to interact with you if they block you. They either lost interest or you said or did something they didn't like so they blocked you.I don't see why anyone would think they deserve and explanation of why they are blocked. Block them back and move on.

I absolutely support blocking without having to justify it. I cant imagine a single woman profile in here that doesnt use it. Its my choice to talk to

Someone, or engage in conversation - just as meeting with someone is. Harsh though it might be , sometimes blocking is the only way forward

"The reason is either that their profile has been suspended by admin or they no longer wish to interact with you. "

This.

We actually proactively block when browsing for potential meets.

It's nothing personal at all. If someone is never going to be who we'd look to meet with then blocking permanently removes them from any future searches, prevents them from trying to contact us should we put a meet post up (effectively saving them time and effort) and also ensures that we'll never come up in any searches they do either. A win/win for everyone.

A block is just a permanent filter. It's not always about something you've done/said, even though occasionally it can be.

I know an explanation might help some people deal with an out-of-the-blue block but it won't change the fact you're blocked, and probably won't stop others from doing it too.

I've been ghosted countless times by men from different sites. I don't bother trying to work out why, as it could be one of numerous reasons.

I don't expect an explanation and don't get one.

Even if someone gave a reason, you might not be able to act on it for the next person you talk to. Be yourself and forget about the people who block or stop talking, as you can't please everyone.

we are big fans of the block button we use it for all types of reasons and since we are here to meet for real its very useful we pre block anyone we are simply not interested in ... we block sexist racist bullies and trolls ... we block those who send crap messages or abusive messages and by doing this we get very little timewasters very little abuse its the one thing thats perfect on fab and thats the block button ..

nobody owes anybody anything on this site

This. The amount of arguing back astounds me, like it's going to make me change my mind. If anything it does the opposite.

Well, I’ve just blocked about 40 people instantly from the I fuck everyone bareback forum post.

If we see / read something we don’t like it’s easier to block then have them contact us and have to explain why we aren’t interested and people get very huffy when they are told no, so the block button saves the hassle.

We had a guy we’d chatted with and planned to meet suddenly get all possessive when we put a status we were heading to a club so of course we blocked him instantly.

The fuckwit probably still doesn’t understand what he did wrong.

Why should we explain anything to him?

So when we say “single guys send a face pic and a good message to entice Mrs p” and we get a message like “wanna fuck” with no pic you think we need to explain to them why we are blocking them?

Those people don’t need an explanation, they need help!

no i dont agree at all ,, i have blocked people aftrer a few messages as the convo has gone not what i liked / so cant be bothered to waste my time with it .. block is a tool to use ... fab is a social site ,,, it just is how it is ...

no one can force another human being to do / say something they dont want to do .

i mean fab could put in automated responses for people that get blocked, like if i block you i can select a tick box, (bored/not compatible/lost interest/other reason)

Shangri-La

Never understand why people can be so self entitled here. Like when someone dosnt get a message back or blocked. No one owes you anything. Plus as said above can lead to arguments if you try and explain. Like with everything if you get blocked, do you really want everyone to tell you why. Just get over it and yourself.
