All the recent bareback threads got me thinking. I've been to 3 clubs in last few weeks and I want to know what the risks are when guys and girls are fingering different women.

It seems common a practise and no cleaning between pussy. Watched one lady finger 6 different ladies.

So isn't this nearly as risky as going bare

Interesting thought. Is there any difference between that and bareback? Not sure there is...

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I know the point Cali is making but for me, personally, I don't think about it.

I would hate to be so worried about peoples hands, tongues and dicks that every time I go to a club I have to spray myself down with Lysol afterwards. I look after my own sexual health, and hope that others do too. As someone said on one of the bareback posts, all this we do on here is based on trust. Once thats gone, it really isn't fun any more.

It doesn't worry me but I just as someone that gets condemned for my stance on bare play figured that many that were doing this were then demanding safe sex.

I wouldn't give the smallest part of a second to what people think of how I play. As long as I am happy and the guy/guys are happy, then its good.

I strongly suspect there are a lot of people who rely too heavily on the protective powers of condoms. As your post points out there are many other ways to catch STIs.

Definitely agree that some people think condoms make them indestructible, and that can be highlighted by some of the comments in bareback threads about not needing to be tested.

Cali...although you & I do play differently, I do respect your choice to play the way you do and your honesty about it. I personally couldn't go bare with all my meets but that's not because I don't want play bare to I just don't want to take the risks. You have weighed up the risks of how you play and have made a mature decision, and whilst I may choose to play differently and would advise others to use protection I would never condemn the way you play...I just personally couldn't enjoy myself with the increased risk at the back of my mind (plus the abstaining between meets/tests would drive me potty!!) x

I to be honest rarely play bare. I just refuse to say I do when I don't always. I just hadn't thought about the fingering play till someone mentioned it on a thread. So I watched and realised its a very common thing

May have to ask the nurses at the clinic when I next go for testing if they've any facts and figures...due to go later this month so will see what they say. It does make sense that there would be a risk, but I would guess it was lower like with oral...could be wrong though!

I'm an ex nurse

The most heart breaking cases I saw were people that thought they'd played safe

Fact people that use condoms are less likely to get tested

I do but I get tested regularly

The only safe sex is no sex

Nobody has the right to judge anyone what we choose to do is our rights

Got my tin hat on now lol

A very good point cali, anyone that mentions bareback gets witch hunted and shot down yet this is just as risky and probablys happens just as if not more often.

The plain fact been that the only safe sex is no sex.

Each to there own.

Is it not because the chances in contracting HIV are negated once the bodily fluid has dried?

I understand HIV isn't the only STD, but it's the one we fear most.

There's so,e research into it somewhere

Cross contamination is a I point I've raised in every bare-back thread that I've responded to, in particular to the 'condom only police'.

Just think about it logically... what is the risk of a penis causing a tissue/skin abrasion compared to a hand/finger with rough skin, sharp or ragged finger nails?

And as mentioned, its quite common for hands/fingers to explore several sets of private parts without any protection or sanitation from one person to the next. The same applies to oral sex too!

I don't think anyone can specifically answer your question but there might be a clue in reading up on what safe-sex practice is REALLY supposed to be.

It seems to me that the swinging scene, or at least a lot of the people in the scene have stripped down the principal and practice of safe-sex to JUST a condom, while in reality being an active practicing swinger is everything that safe-sex is NOT

Essex.

From memory a man is statistically less likely to catch something from a woman than a woman is from a man. Obviously some things are easier to spread than others. Also from memory I believe women who have femal sexual partners are statistically the the group with the lowest cases okf STIs.

So I would think that in a group situation a good hand wash is a good place to start.

Protection is down to the individual but as soon as you add a third person or more you increase the risk. I think common sense not paranoia is the way to go...

I think this is one of those reasons we don't do clubs, I would be forever saying gerroff till you have washed !

I think we will stick to more intimate meets

okay been for my clinic visit today and I asked. was told that it's more risky than oral due to the increased risk of cross contamination. although if your taking cim then risks are similar

was told its same as risks with sharing sex toys. or a guy not swapping condoms between partners.

there is also the chance of being cut which increases the risks. although as with most things it would be very hard to state statistics on how things were caught as most people have done a variety of sex acts on the day of infection.

Like the footbaths in a swimming pool, but for your nads.

Actually fuck it, lets make it a 72hr soak in jeyes fluid, that should do the trick

oh my. I've just laughed at the image. to me it's just part and parcel of the lifestyle. and accept that there are risks in everything that I may do.

but I was just thinking about it after all the grief I have had for admitting I would go bare if I wanted to

.

This is a good point Cali, as others have said no sexual practice is without risk, but I think the main issue is when the risk is compounded and then it rises exponentially.

So, people who allow unprotected finger contact are probably at the lower end of the risk spectrum, then those who have unprotected oral sex onto the barebackers.

I think it's unlikely those who engage in bareback encounters will insist on protected tongues and fingers, so they're 'opportunity' for contracting something is very much higher than say someone who is a soft swinger and insists on protected oral and digits.

I don't think we can afford to be cavalier about bareback sex just because all aspects of physical interaction has risks attached, because fans of bareback are also likely to be engaging in all the other activities that we all so enjoy

We all take risks if you are having sex with multiple people wether you wear condoms or not.

If you are quite happy to tell people you play BB why let it get to you if someone doesn't agree with it.

It's your life, live it how you want and ignore people who tell you to do things their way.

I completely understand where you are going with this.

Hygiene is always going to be an issue, I mean don't you wonder who washes their hands or bits after visiting the loo at a club?

I mean I would never eat from the open bowl of peanuts at the bar either but plenty do!

Or for that matter after they've been for a ciggie! Eewwwww!
