Getting chatted up in real life

Reading a thread started by starburst__babydoll about getting chatted up in her local supermarket reminded me of a day, years and years ago, when I got chatted up as I was walking down the street by a very handsome and very young male.

He approached me in a friendly, non-threatening way and was really polite yet made it clear he fancied me and would love to have my number. At the time I was going through some very hard times emotionally so I thanked him for his interest but told him I would not be giving him my number. He insisted but, once he realised I was not going to change my mind, he said he understood. He then gave me his number telling me it was in case I changed my mind and would love to meet him. I thanked him again for his interest and told him he had made my day. We both parted ways with a smile on our faces even if nothing ever happened.

So, when was the last time you got chatted up in real life, not online, and it made your day either because it lead to something or because they made you feel great?

Couple of months ago. Guy was following me around a very big nightclub trying to talk to me. I was in a bit of a mood and not talking. Eventually he just opened his phone out it in my hand and said add your number. I did.

Changed phones lost his number. Good looking guy. Very polite. I just didn’t have the energy for what could’ve come next.

You're too attractive then Sasha. David Bailey said that models were really easy to get into bed because other men to too scared to approach them.

in the deep mist of the valleys

Last month at an airport on a trip to Amsterdam. I met a lady who approach me at the luggage area, we just chatted for a bit and we both said our good byes.

On the way back home at the airport in Amsterdam, we bump into each other again and had another. When the plane touch down in Bristol and funny enough in the luggage area, the lady approach me again and she hoped to see ne again. So I gave her my number and we have met on couple of occasions. The good thing about it, the lady does want a serious relationship, just a bit of company. Happy days

Me (Jack)? Probably around 1995!

Alice was chatted-up in a pub a while ago. He must have been in his twenties.

I came back from the loos and she introduced me to him as her partner. He went pale, looked as if I was going to lamp him, apologised and rushed off before I had a chance to buy him a drink!

Poor guy had no idea that I would have left them to it if he'd given me half the chance!

Last week whilst out working I came across a lady that was in an emotional state.

originally I passed her by but thought better of it I was worried for her well-being.

I parked up and walked over to chat with her and offer support or help she was really quite fragile.

So after talking with her and hearing how bad things had been for her and trying to give her a bright side to turn her frown upside down our conversation went to flirty banter.

my heart was pounding I felt the more I learned about her the more I was starting to like her.

Anyway I had talked her down and offered her a lift home she said how I was a beautiful soul and not too bad looking and said she could do with a man about the house then offered me in for a cold drink and a proper thank you I declined due to her current mental state she then asked if I would take her number I never did as I felt i would have been taking advantage of her situation

All week I have not managed to get her out of my head so I’m kicking my self for not taking her advances serious and not taking her number sure I know where she lives but I’m not the type of lad to show up uninvited.

This was the first time I have been chatted up in many of years and I knocked her back I’m such a prat at times.

Sadly I wouldn’t even know if I was being chatted up.

A lady I had been chatting to and dancing with most of the night said she was going to get a taxi so as you do thanked her for a good evening and wished her good night.

She return ten minutes later saying the taxi was here…… “ah right. Well I hope you had a good night…. Bye”

It was only when it was too late my wingman said “you were supposed to be in the taxi with her!”

What an idiot

I had a few who tried, but it’s usually an eye contact thing.

The latest one, was my local flower guy at the garden centre, who cheekily wrote his number on the receipt and said … that he’s a plant doctor so if my lavander plant I got, was dying or for anything else.. that I could always call him or text him anytime.

I kinda thought it was cute sadly not my type still cute tho

I imagine it is now becoming a risky game for men to randomly chat up women in public , with the publicity and use of social media of men preying on women ,it can make you question if advances on a woman can easily be perceived as as unwanted and lead to problems .

It is so easily to be labelled and hounded for it . A few times I have had a bit of cheeky banter / joking around with a woman , but then leave it as it’s hard to tell if it’s genuine interest or just killing time , and could easily be misconstrued.

It’s a hard game , knowing what’s just a nice conversation or genuine advance . It’s a bit different as you get older going from a Saturday night out at 18 knowing most are searching for some fun , to being an adult

Lots of guys automatically think that if you speak to them in a bar etc that it’s a come on. It’s like you can’t just have a chat with anyone these days. Has it always been like this and I’m only just noticing?

I now only chat with females if I’m out and about.

Was gonna say the same thing. Life is too short for "what if" or regrets. Take a chance. Just turning up on her door step would be a bit much but just a simple note or card is a great idea. You never know, she could be thinking of you too. What have you got to lose?

Its a known fact amongst my mates, and also drives them mad, that if I get talking to a guy, say on a night out, never in a million years do I think I'm being chatted up. I just think they enjoy chatting and some banter with me. There should be something like a big neon sign to indicate that's what's happening lmao

I (bev) never get chatted up but a few years ago the day after I'd been to the dentist, I had a phone call from a friend of mine who is the receptionist there.

A guy had come in with a card and flowers and asked if they could be passed on to the lady who had been sat in the waiting room at the same time as him the day before and described me (I'm difficult to miss being nearly 6ft tall with bright red hair! ).

Anyway the card said that he hadn't stopped thinking about me since he'd seen me and had his number on. That was a bit of an ego boost!

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been chatted up! I’ve been with the husband since I was 18 and I haven’t been hit on since we’ve been together. He on the other hand has had plenty of women flirt with him - some right in front of me after being introduced as his wife. I can hardly blame them, he’s SMOKIN hot!

Surprisingly enough, it’s the same for women. I do chat with women I am not attracted to, when I am out. I like the idea of flirting, chatting just to see if I still got it. There’s usually some surprise when I end the chat with “I will leave you to enjoy the evening and maybe catch up later”.

In a few instances, it’s led to flares across the room when I have been chatting to someone else.

Absolutely. I spent my evening talking to a couple of women. To add some context, I'm a 6ft 2 woman (in heels) and built like a tank, and I walked into a swinging club, on my own. I think I was probably too intimidating or something. I admit, it was a real confidence knocker to be honest. It was my birthday too and I left the place feeling like shit.

somewhere sweet and sour

Was in a supermarket couple weeks ago and the guy from a "couple" as he passed me for umpteenth time said " we aren't following you, honest." Then at checkout he just stared at me. I wouldn't class it as being chatted up though, lol it was more freaky and made me feel uncomfy lol

As for properly being chatted up.... prob 1997 lol

"Never. Went to a club for the first time, and I went on my own. Not a single guy spoke to me all night. I think I'm just too tall and wide for most guys.

Now this I find hard to believe. Not one? Really?

"At my local Tesco a few weeks ago, young lady on the checkout I've seen in there several times, always smiles at me and asked for my number on my way out

And then...?! Jeez, don't leave us hanging! "

I'm going for some food and a few drinks with her later

Sometimes when I’m out I would love to just say to a Random lady how attractive she is , but I imagine I would just get a filthy look so never done it , i wish ladies sometimes Would be more Generous with their smiles and it might give men a bit more confidence

I’m not sure if this will be classed as chatting somebody up

"Reading a thread started by starburst__babydoll about getting chatted up in her local supermarket reminded me of a day, years and years ago, when I got chatted up as I was walking down the street by a very handsome and very young male.

So, when was the last time you got chatted up in real life, not online, and it made your day either because it lead to something or because they made you feel great?"

I don’t!

I'm not sure it's down to women to make men feel more confident. Plus, there's the ongoing assessment of Is it safe / worth doing this?

I would love this much more than arranging on here as it feels kinda natural and thrilling

You never know in real life if they’re smiling because they fancy you or you remind them of their auntie

Many many years ago I was a young sales guy staying away in a hotel with a leisure club - had a swim and then sat quietly in the sauna.

Mature lady with big tits joined me and I couldn’t help but stare

I moved to the steam room as I could feel my hard on growing

Almost immediately she followed me and in the steam introduced herself

We ended up in my room - and had a great night

I love it when Dee gets chatted up in day to day life, or even when we are out together.

Something very naughty that they see her wedding ring but their ultimate aim is to between her thighs !
