Hey all,

For those that know us were a fairly inexperienced couple even though we’ve been playing for a few years now.

We’re strong believers in safe sex and being safe but wonder how people handle this with oral. Barriers for oral are sub optimal but we’re quite risk adverse and not really sure how to proceed.

Obviously the majority don’t bother but why? Not trying to lead a question but genuinely curious on the consensus.

And for those of you who play safely how often do you get tested?

I get tested every month at a big sexual health clinic. Plus I have various vaccines for a few things to help reduce risk abit

Ultimately risk is with condoms as well. Such as herpes / warts etc kissing carries risk as well

Really comes down to working in your comfort levels and with compatible people

People have quoted risk estimates and comparisons between different things before.

The frequency and adherence to STI testing amongst swingers is very high and above that of the general population. I test at least every 3 months, even without a partner.

I don't view oral sex to be as risky as vaginal or anal sex, by a large degree. I may be quite off in my risk evaluation, as humans typically are.

Obviously not all STIs are tested for, so those saying that they have never caught anything may not realise that they may have done.

Test every 3-4mths, sometimes at GUM, started using SH24 too. Oral yes there's risks but less likely, don't tend to play with complete strangers, chat first, ask around testing. If they seem surprised I'm asking that's a big red flag, also if the thing's they're saying don't seem to add up. The main issue is a test is only as good as the day you do it until the next time you play. You can also buy PrEP from Superdrug/online. As with any sexual contact there's always a bit of a gamble.

We use condoms for penetration, but don't use anything for oral, as we don't like the idea nor see the point of oral with a barrier.

We also get tested every 3 months.

im amazed at how many preach safe sex and never get tested ...

Yep, get this a lot! They seem absolutely astounded at the notion that whilst they're looking to play away, that their partner might also be doing the same?

Also lots of 'well I only go bare with my fwb'... Yep, cool! And how many others are they doing that with too mate? I think the best I heard was someone stating they'd been recently tested second hand via a fwb who had been

I just done my test Recently all good I do them around every 6 weeks sometimes on line sometimes go to a Clinic but to be far if u not sure about oral put a Johnny on the parson and I make it nice with chocolate Flavor but Always safe sex.
