I don't have an anti-body stance. I'm all for people loving their bodies and for people to be accepted as they are. What I don't understand is the concept of saying that somebody else would look better if they had this particular part of their body chopped off. That's very different.

Regarding your examples, I think it would be very strange if people had a preference for earlobes having been chopped off somebody. Since we're talking about appearance, the appendix is irrelevant.

My partner has had a double mastectomy with reconstruction. If I said I preferred her that way it would be very odd. I have no issue with it and it doesn't affect our relationship. That's very different from saying I prefer her that way because I find it aesthetically pleasing. That sounds to me like I would be saying I'm pleased she went through that because I get a benefit out of it. That would be very odd, but that's how these circumcision conversations look to me.

If I had fallen for a lady in a wheelchair or who had lost a limb, I would be fine with that. But I'm never going to say to her "I'm pleased you had to have your leg cut off because I like the look of it".

It's the attitude of preference I have an issue with, not the person's body.

K is 100% uncut, she's tried cut and had cut ex's but can't get away with it.

Exactly for some people medical reasons require it. I'd rather have a functioning cock than one that causes pain, restriction n takes all the pleasure out of sex. WHO most certainly does not recommend routine infant circumcision. Removing the breast tissue of young girls would stop them getting breast cancer but no-one in their right mind would advocate for that! It's worth bearing in mind that breast cancer is more common in men than penile cancer.

Of course they will say they prefer what they have. Especially if they had no choice on being circumcised as a child. They'll spout all manner of reasons why it's better from 'cleanliness' (it's very easy to teach kids to wash their cocks properly you know, so that when theyre adults theyre no less clean than someone circumcised) to reduced sensitivity - why would anyone want to be less sensitive?

The only time there's a logical, rational argument for removing a foreskin is for medical reasons. Not for 'cleanliness', religion or 'tradition' and certainly not just because that's what dad had done to him as a child.

If a similar argument was put forward for removing excess skin on women's genitalia under the veil of 'cleanliness', 'hygiene' or 'culture' then I suspect women wouldn't be so quick to have an opinion on someone else's genitals. But as that doesn't form til later in life it's not something that happens. Lucky them.

I wish that was the case. From personal experience I can say that it clearly isn't the case. I have known a number of young mums who refused to clean their child's foreskin because it was yukky. I had to have words with the grandparents to get it sorted. As for other cloudy issues, the medical case for male circumcision in some parts of the world is crystal clear if you accept what the World Health Organisation has to say on the matter.

Historically it was true that there was an argument for circumcision in places where there was a lack of access to clean water.

The number of places where this is currently the situation is minimal. And certainly does not include the USA or western Europe.

And just because you know a few women who can't take care of their offspring properly that doesn't justify a non-essential surgical procedure.

Maybe all kids should have shaved heads whilst at school to prevent any issues with nits?

Where are you getting that info from?

Coming from a family full of boys and with a pediatric nurse and also a health visitor in the mix, you should not ever forcedly retract a boys foreskin, from the age of around 6 it will retract naturally, for some boys this happens earlier, for some later, but you can cause permanent damage and increase the likelihood of infections by doing that. My son's have never had an infection, my friend who did do that to her son ended up having to have him circumcised.

Never pull a child’s foreskin back toward their body to “clean” under it, or for any reason. Educate yourself on forced retraction.

The foreskin is fused to the head of the penis, sometimes through puberty.

The only person who should EVER retract the child’s foreskin is THE CHILD.

Forced retraction is painful and can cause bleeding, infection, scarring, and other complications.

Can obviously only speak from experience, but saying most circumcision shows a form of abuse is quite a damning comment. I am, through medical need at such a young age, I can barely remember. Anyone else I have discussed this with have all said the same. Without exception.
