As a swinger of just 4 years i am curious to know what has changed over the years i have my own thoughts on this matter and im guessing swinging isnt the same anymore, as has been said a few times before ,is there a difference between a swinging site and a sex site?? Well i think there is a very big difference and swinging is an extension to our already amazing sex life and is a hobby for us and have made some amazing friends along the way but there are too many people on here that just expect to make a profile and fuck someone!! thoughts????

Swinging to us is swapping partners, but others might see it differently.

Most people will see it as "no strings sex" between consenting adults.

It's faster! I started when I was 19 in the days of contact mags, no mobile phones and no internet. You wrote a letter, enclosed a photo, sent it to a box number, and waited. Now you can go online and be meeting someone within the hour. I preferred it in the good old days. The internet has flooded swinging with timewasters.

Agree with that. Was the same when I started out (1985) but I didn't need to use the contact mags as I a had a 'ready supply' of ladies looking for my, er, company...

I have never regarded Swinging as being 'swapping'. That is just one facet of a very wide range of possibilities, which come under the banner of 'Recreational Sex' (the term the Yanks use) which, to me, describes it much better and encompasses almost anything you could want to do with a complete stranger with no strings attached.

When I started swinging 6 years ago it was very different.

There was a huge social scene, in my first year on a site I did 4 munches. They've also changed. Back then it was munches, with the odd local social. Now it's all socials.

I am still friends with people I met on the first couple of sites I belonged to, that chatted to me at my first munch. Some I've had fun with, some I haven't. If I was ever in trouble or stuck somewhere, they can be relied on to help out. Couldn't say that of the people I've met recently.

Well i have to say since i first started there are far more people who talk the talk but cant walk the walk and we have met some good friends some that we chat to every day but the majority of people these days just think that by making a profile think they will get a shag in a day.

We love the social side as much as the playing side and are much more careful when choosing meets. Brings me back to a previous thread i would much rather pay yearly for FAB just to out the freebie time wasters

move with the times..be variable on how u meet,then there is no reason on how to 'swing'

personally i dont care how its viewed how I play, I spent last nite watching CSI on dvds with a fem friend..obviously shagging at points lol

other times, I'll be turning up for a shag

other times(rare) i will go for a drink, or a social

*my last point tho...ppl complaining about the 'swinging' being different as theres no 'attachment' etc etc...yet will go to clubs and meet ppl they have never really spoke to, play, with possibly no intent to play again(or organize something).

we all can play different, and thanks to this fine site and others like it....carefully select who we want for fun without to much hassle

*have to point out I've been a 'real' cpl a couple of times while I've swung...so I know all about the 'swap' malarkey lol--and as previous times the whos real swingers questions comes up..I see the one about needing a partner to exchange...then u see the hypocrisy of single bi-fem seeking couple.

Ive just a balanced view on what the site and scene is I think...we are just groups of people at the end of the day with very similar interests

In the "Olden" days it was in the main about couples and it still is! Couples may meet singles, but when singles meet singles, that is NOT swinging! If it were, then every pick-up at a pub or club or even off the street would be swinging and that is not the case.

Seems to me that most singles on here and other swingers sites seem to think that they are swingers because they can join the site. Well, I can stand in a car workshop, doesn't make me a mechanic!

Also in the "Olden" days, singles were all but used by couples to spice up their sex lives, not the single visiting them! We have played with singles, but I wouldn't ever believe we have "swung" with them. Call us old fashioned, but for us singles are not swingers, just like when we first started!

And to Keenfucktographer.. Looking for a single is not hypocrisy! It is a couple looking for a single to enhance their sex lives. I do not believe any couple meeting singles sits there and thinks.. "Lets meet this guy/girl. It will be our care in the community for this week"

One of the advantages of the 'old days' was that people had to make a bit of an effort, organise letters and be able to receive replies (without the wife or mother finding out) and (more often than not) invest a few quid.

That didn't make the system foolproof but it meant there were far fewer fakes and chancers than are are around now.

Personally, I play with singles, couples and TVs - in 1:1, 3sums, at clubs and at parties - many of these people I class as friends as well as sexual partners. This site is called Fabswingers and allows singles to join as well as couples so I'm happy to class myself as a swinger...

With regards to the OP - I didn't swing in the days of contact mags, I was too busy shagging around locally so can't really say - don't think I could have been arsed with writing off and waiting - much prefer instashag.com

Surely different people see it different ways? I have seen posts from many different couples that have all said they are swingers. Some like to meet and just have sex..... some like the social side.

the context of my hypocrisy comment Rumour....is couples that say singles cannot be swingers , yet meet singles...mainly of course single bi-fems.

I sound like I'm anti couples when I post this...I'm pretty much clearly not, as its who I mainly meet, but not once has any couple told me I'm not in the class of a swinger.Like I say, I've had my partners...so I'm not some single guy just posting shit, I've been around the scene to know it well enough.I just wont address myself as some cpls plaything...just like a single fem wouldnt like that label.I play equally and expect to receive the same.

We think over the years swingings become the fashionable thing to do now.When you goto clubs now you find far less real swingers compared to wannabes that just go because its cool.

The club scene caters far more for singles now than couples.Obviously the clubs clocked on to it being an easy way to make cash.
