Hi all, so IV recently joined the beard gang just out of curiosity really.

But what IV found is that some people seem to treat you differently because of it. There's a couple of web at work that seem to be nicer to me now that got the beard, I find it very strange but would love to know what the overall opinion on beards is on here?

Somewhere off the edge of the map... 'ere there be monsters

Personally, for my money, you'd be hard pressed to find me a man who doesn't look better with a beard vs clean shaven. It's all a matter of taste, I guess.

In regards to people out and about in the world viewing and treating you differently, I can only imagine it being linked to some sort of agism (positive or negative). In that a lot of men can look significantly older/younger depending on if they're bearded or clean shaven.

Maybe it just hides the face a bit!

Could be se sort of agism i guess, not sure if it's made me look older really, I am 41 and don't want to look much older Haha

When it was big i seemed to attract a certain style of women compared to it being neater as it is now, i do find that women flirt with me more when i wear my glasses though

It definately seems to have a marmite reaction... folk either love or hate it.

Personally, I won't now meet someone without... last time I did was odd and uncomfortable for me... dunno why, just clean shaven apparently isn't my cuppa

Haha it's ok, I always thought it would be very ticklish on the thighs really, wasn't sure if that would be a good thing or a bad one, obviously bad in your case!

I love Mr NBVN's beard, and I find that I am attracted to lots of men with beards but that doesn't mean I find all men attractive just because they have a beard. I need to be attracted to the man beneath the beard, the beard is an awesome additional extra.

NBVN x

Completely, utterly, wholeheartedly agree. I have loved beards as far as I can remember and I also remember the "event" that brought out this interest in bearded men.

I've had mine on and off for the last 2 years. I can't really tell if people treat me any differently. I tend to get red blotches on my fave from time to time so the beard does a great job of hiding them!

Every time I shave I go through the same routine. Stare in the mirror and think what a mistake.

Full Viking is the way forward, you still need to maintain it though,

Having a beard is like a pass to a secret club with men, I get that impression personally, bigger the beard the more respect you get lol also way back in the day you was not classed as worrier if you couldn’t grow a beard.

Like most things, it depends. Depends on the man's face and the type of beard. Some combinations are a real turn-on, some a real turn-off
