Planned or not?

So I have a meet sort of planned for later tonight. Kind of agreed time and general location but nothing more than that and then silence. My spidey sense tells me that they are genuine and that it will come through but …….

How planned does a meet generally have to be before you get concerns?

"If I don't know an exact time and place I ain't goin'."

Agreed. Just wondering whether to chase a plan B - normally I wouldn’t but it is a quiet Sunday and need something to do

Where ever I lay my hat

You can normally tell the time wasters. An exchange of phone numbers and a message before hand can often give a bit of confidence.

What if plan A and plan B both come good?

That is my BIG worry. As I said my spidey sense is okish (and usually pretty accurate) but have a slightly nagging doubt.

I think I will give it the benefit of the doubt and see how it plays out.

Well it's either arranged or it isn't in my book, no sort offs or anything general. Only you know the communication between each other and silence can cause doubt.

What they said.

Op, I hope this turns out for you okay. But this is why a need details.

Full plans. Time and place or this is the man that can’t be moved… *one for the music lovers.

I've had my time wasted once before. If we don't bang out specifics and trade numbers... It's not happening

We get our time wasted on regular basis on here it seems. Even meet planned for while in Glasgow disappeared even though was up for it day before. Shame as was another guy who we wanted to meet and he did too.

Sometimes wish guys just had balls to say couldn't or didn't want to make the meet

If there isn't an exact plan in place, I assume it's not happening. Also if they haven't checked in on the day before/on the day it's off too.

Clear communication is the only thing that makes this place work.

That's a tricky one as we've been let down twice recently, one as we were driving to their place, the other ten minutes before we were going to set off !?.... Red flags otherwise include phone number not returned for yours, going quiet a few days before the meet, avoiding certain questions or attempts to set a time and place. Many genuine folk leave it till the last minute to confirm address etc, yes the timewasters sometimes do the same thing too. Everyone is different, many are very shy. You never know if it's going to happen till your face to face

"It got cancelled "

When did you find out? Or didn't they show?

"It got cancelled "

You'll find that a regular thing on here, many like the idea of meeting, enjoy the attention, then cancel last minute.

To be fair - as I said at the start it had only been partially planned and I should probably have known better.

My spider sense is usually pretty good but it failed on this one - although the fact I posted about it tells me I knew it wasn’t going to happen

I checked a few hours before and was told it wasn’t going to happen. I knew anyway - which is kind of why I posted to second guess myself.

Actually I find it is relatively rare for me.

It is the address thing that always sets concerns off for me - if an address is given you are pretty much guaranteed that it is a genuine meet (as is a phone chat). I get why people are wary but that is usually indicative of someone who isn’t going to meet.

We never give out a phone number before a meet.

However, I agree, you can usually tell. A spidey sense is not to be underestimated.

Yeah, most no-shows or cancellations we've had are busy every day on Fab, except for the day of the meet.

A phone chat is usually a positive indicator for me. If the profile has decent (and consistently taken) pix and proper veris then I would not worry about a lack of a chat on the phone. If I have any doubts then a lack of a phone chat is a killer.

we gave us with long planning yerars ago as it was the most for letdowns the only planning we do is within the week dont seen to get let down anymore ...

if the comunication stops then we would waste no more time in the meet if we plan to meet a guy in a weeks time then we keep him knowing everything is ok and still on ..if he goes quite then we leave a message to say we 'ved moved on ...this is the reason to why we wont give our addy till the last min postcade first then when they are withing the post code and we see the car they are in then house number (if playing at home)

there seem to be a massive increase in men moaning about being messed around of late are you 100% sure its a woman or couple ?? mind you there are loads of couples who do enjoy winding men up with no intention of meeting

I am not complaining about being messed around. I was curious as to what signals you get on whether a meet is going to happen.

To be clear we had only (tentatively) arranged it that morning and it was just that the arranging hadn’t quite been finalised. Normally rapid types of meets have a good chance of successfully happening in my experience.

"I …… Normally rapid types of meets have a good chance of successfully happening in my experience."

If you don’t make the initial meet quickly, I’d say it less likely to happen as time goes in. For loads of reasons.

Sounds exciting, but I’m too old for bullshit, I just need a time and place.
