Hi, me and my husband have been talking safe words, due to an experience we had and both thought we were enjoying the moment but in fact we both wanted to leave.

Any suggestions??? X

Presuming by making it a safe word rather than stop, you want it to be unnoticed. Maybe use a pet name styled "babe" or "darling" which you would never normally use. Would seem very natural then, but you would know

It doesn't have to be a word, you can make eye contact or do a gesture. But ultimately it doesn't have to be subtle, if your uncomfortable or not feeling any situation just get up and leave.

I find "stop" is usually straight to the point.

We agreed some time ago that if we felt things weren't right we'd ask for a private chat. If there was an immediate problem we'd say "stop" or something similar. Personally I think safe words leave too much room for mistakes or mishearing while "stop" said loudly is unambiguous.

An ex once jokingly suggested she’d shout ‘Do me, big boy’ if she wanted me to stop.

We decided on just ‘Stop’

I have always used the word "cabbages" for anyone at the meet to stop all activity on a dime.

As no one in their right mind yells that in flagrante delicto it seemed an appropriate word.

The traffic light system is easy.

Red - immediate drop

Yellow/amber - pause it go slow

Green is rarely used

It is necessary to have a safe word, because you might be facing away from your partner (during impact play), I’m which case they can’t see your face.

There are times I don’t want my no/stop to be listened to, so those words wouldn’t work.

I was going to say very similar, we have had the same safe word forever, there are times in our play together we wouldn’t be able to see each other’s faces, hoods or the like and no or stop is no good because it’s all part of the play.

I like the traffic light system idea.

My friend used to say "Margaret Thatcher" as her safe word. Apparently it used to kill the mood instantly

Myself and hubby just have to say the word "stop" the people/person have no choice but to respect that because if they don't and they have a go or Try and get you to stay will only result in a report on fab and a bad name. Choose any word you like and make the people/person aware that you have this safe word an if it is used then play must stop. It's you bodys and you have that right.

Good choice.

I suggested 'Meatloaf' earlier because its a common one with kinksters.

Why? It signifies this.

"I would do anything for love, but I won't do that......."
