So I’ve had it a few times where I’ve sent a message, it gets read, they send me friend invite, but then that’s it. No message back.

Avoid and de-friend?

I've had that lots too- they chat with you and then disappear off the site or change their identity. I know someone who did that but he left similar details in profile and just changed name - caught out but now gone
