"What are you like at socials? When we went to our first one I was rooted to the spot with fear and would'nt let Rob leave my side!It was only because everyone was so friendly and came to speak to us that I was able to relax and really enjoy myself So now when we go I feel so comfortable that I can leave Rob chatting to people and go off and chat to others on my own and will especially make sure that I go and say hello to anyone that seems to be on their own What do you do? do you mingle or sit and wait to be approached?" to be honest i have never been to one ...been invited to 4 or 5 but never been able to make it ....will try hard for next one tho ...

"I'm widely regarded as a social butterfly I goto soo many. I'm often a hand holder these days looking after newbies, but when on my own, I spend ages chatting with folk who know me, then rush over to find those I really wanted to speak to having never met, have a chat with any lonely looking folk, drink more beer, dance, then think oh buggers its finished and I never spoke to several folk. Regards Harry Jones" Social Butterfly?????????? You are a munch whore Mr Jones!!!!!! We tend to turn up late, missing any pre-drinks and then I tend to get d*unk with anybody that will chat and have a brew with me. Depending on the size I do try and say hello to everyone but I do have nights where for whatever reason I can't be bothered and will stick with those I know well!! To me it's like any other night out, with any other circle of friends.

"We are new to the lifestyle and attending our first social in a vanilla setting this week and feeling quite nervous of what to and not to expect and what info to share or not share with others eg. name, occupation etc... ![]() I'd advise that you don't share information that you don't feel comfortable sharing, you can in some cases say what profession you work in without it being obvious where you work or without divulging that info. Hope all goes well for you both.

"We are new to the lifestyle and attending our first social in a vanilla setting this week and feeling quite nervous of what to and not to expect and what info to share or not share with others eg. name, occupation etc... ![]() keep it vague, first names only, general area that you live in, say "I work in retail" rather than "I'm manager of Tescos in Acacia Avenue". Basically just tell people what they need to know and what you want to. Don't worry too much though, most people are genuinely just interested in chatting and not out to turn up at your workplace wearing their "I met Joe Bloggs at a swingers social"tee shirt ![]()
