We were looking for a meet yesterday and we started the whole thing round our friends, no one was available so we thought “let’s make some new friends”

We did the old “put up a meet” etc and got a few replies, we like to exchange face pics first as there needs to be mutual attraction for it to work for us.

We got a message from the (what I can assume) was the male half, no issue, we know it normally works like that.

Very pushy about arranging the meet without swopping face pics. They sent the address and everything.

Now once we had exchanged face pics one side of us said no and that’s that in our partnership but the guy kept pestering and we said as it was about a 75 minute drive we would give it a miss. (It’s about an hour but they didn’t know exactly where we was)

He kept pushing and pushing sending about 4 or 5 messages with different directions etc and how it was about 50 minutes.

In the end we just came clean and told them we didn’t find any mutual attraction and that’s why we didn’t want to meet.

Was we wrong or would you have done the same ? We didn’t want to hurt anyones feelings

If you don't want to meet someone don't keep making excuses. If they don't understand from your first refusal just make it clear, politely in the second message. In my experience a straightforward polite and unambiguous refusal is easier to take than excuses.
