"There's a huge difference between nice and creepy. The same as there's a big difference between a person who's just generally nice and someone who's nice in the hope you'll have sex then gets all passive aggressive when you turn them down. "I'm a nice guy why won't anyone have sex with me?" I like nice people, nobody in my opinion can be too nice but they can be too creepy or fake nice for me." Sadly I can confirm this to be true, from my experience there was a bit of childhood emotional abuse behind it. Fortunately I was able to sort myself out... well, mostly

"I think that, as others have already said, it’s not a question of being “too nice” but more of behaviour that one person thinks is “nice” but is actually insincere, trying to hard or just outright creepy. There is a difference. It’s the whole “white knight” syndrome " ah thats it thats what i mean “white knight” syndrome perfect as to what i mean by too nice ....

" White knight is definitely a thing, I like this quote especially from an article on it which I think sums it up “ Subconsciously, they may feel resentment towards women who do not give them undying love and loyalty in return, because they rescue not necessarily out of pure altruism but with the expectation or hope that their own needs will be met – that they will somehow be rewarded for their rescue efforts.”

"There's nothing wrong with being nice but if they are over complimenting and being extra, I question how genuine they actually are." Depends what you mean by genuine? A lot of these guys have been brainwashed into believing that this is how they're supposed to be, abusive relationships can lead you to being a people pleaser where you're forced to walk on eggshells not to upset the other person, so you're hypersensitive to their needs - and not fully conscious of your own. It does come across to any normal person as desperate and creepy, which then make the 'nice guy' try even harder. It goes against everything you've been taught to start focusing more on your own desires, which then leads on to more genuine connections with others.
