How long is too long

…in advance to start to plan/arrange a meet? Want time to find the right person not just a last minute thing where it just comes down to who’s available at the time. But does it put people off if it’s a meet for 3 or 4 weeks in the future?

No I've arranged meets longer than that, it gives you time to get to know that person and build on the chemistry. It makes for a better meet in my opinion.

I try not to put any sort of extra pressure to arrange something with someone by having time limits. There’s loads of factors going on in peoples lives which mean things change all the time. I think I’m pretty good at recognising if I’m just being strung along vs someone taking their time to ‘know’ me.

Depends on the complexity of the meet, we have one to attend next month that will be 3 months in the planning but we’ll worth it for those involved xx

Thanks guys. It’s more due to other commitments and the next weekend available is about a month away. Just wondering if we’d be wasting our time by trying to arrange now. We usually just do club meets but looking at trying something new.

We have this issue as we have small children so arranging childcare last minute is impossible. If people won't wait they are not worth it. We state clearly in our profile we are not just available, and if we are looking spontaneously we will post to say so. It puts some people off but it's thier loss we think

Yeah we agree. Just don’t want to end up with people talking about it then not turning up when it comes to it. If that’s avoidable haha

We are similar in that we can't just drop things due to work and childcare commitments. I suppose if the people you are meeting are genuine then they will be willing to wait. We have met a lovely couple on here we are in similar situations and we have met every 3-4 weeks. Just how it is sometimes. Hope it turns out well for you xxx

Anything more than a month is overly long, but a range of 3-4 weeks can be reasonable, provided the other person understands that life gets in the way.

V - Due to so many no shows or time wasters we tend to make meets for a week or less. As long as J has had a good chat with them & they connect its all good.

We haven't had much luck finding couples with only a week notice. You'd think it would be easy to get spontaneous meets. We're going to try putting meet ads up further in advance ourselves.

With work and family commitments we don't normally make arrangements more than a week in advance.
