Did I hear correctly yesterday on the news that if you send unsolicited rude photos on social media now you can receive 2 years in prison?

Yep new cyber flashing laws

It's been on the news for months, possibly it comes into force this week as it's been on the news slot again recently

Dint know if it applies to sites like this but it definitely applies to more mainstream social media, as well as all the messaging apps, kik, WhatsApp etc

Yes it's a very grey area on a site like fab but alot of people on here use the likes of kik as well .

Again it's the few spoil it for the many .

Not sure it spoils anything; it's quite easy not to send unsolicited pics? I can't see an exchange on Fab between mutually consenting people would be covered.

Yeah I don't see how it can possibly affect anyone other than the sleezy creeps who send dick pics to random.

I can't think of any situation where consent wouldn't be clear and I certainly wouldn't send anything if it wasn't 100% clear.

How far would/can it go on a site like this?

If someone posts to their profile, it shows in the feed and someone sees it when scrolling through new updates and doesn't like the image for whatever reason - does that count? They didn't want to/didn't ask to see it....

Am guessing it won't or shouldn't but again you haven't asked to see it so does it fall under that category?

Just food for thought

The key word is UNSOLICITED. Makes it a lot simpler. Just don't send dick pics in private messages without being asked.

I don't like sending dick picks but there's never been even the slightest hint of doubt over whether someone wanted one. If she doesn't say show me a pic of your dick or similar she's not getting one.

That's a passive play for the person who's putting the pics on their profile. If someone looks at the photos on your profile, they are being the active party and whatever they find is because they went looking. It's different than your private message inbox being filled with dick pics that you didn't ask for.

That's my interpretation anyway.

Definitely and my interpretation as well but always people that might take it to far as they didn't want to see something they don't want to..... unfortunately someone will always be offended by something that most won't....

With it being unsolicited pics means that all are included rather than just men sending images....
