"We nearly always respond to winks and 1 liners because we think you alwsys have to start some where. What do you think? "

entirely depends on the profile. A wink or a one liner from someone with no public pictures and a one line profile won't get a response but we can see how difficult it is for single guys and a wink can sometimes be a way of bringing themselves to our attention. We do prefer a bit of a message though

To be honest no most of the time we don't reply to one liners especailly if the profile is also lacking in information.

Don't expect an essay but it's not difficult to write a few lines....

Don't mind winks but we don't always remember to check them.

Nope, I dont even look at winks.

If I got a one liner from a well written profile who matched everything else I am interested in I may reply, but to be honest that's never happened. The one liner messages tend to come from the one liner profiles

I honestly believe it's about how you catch someone on the day. Some people will turn a blind eye to some things if they liked the message or person while with some other people, you'll send a message, fit the bill 99.9% and still see your message deleted.

The difference: their mood. Simples.

"We nearly always respond to winks and 1 liners because we think you alwsys have to start some where. What do you think? "

It depends on the person and the profile, as at the end of the day if they say on there profile that they don't respond to just winks or friends invites without a message and then they either just wink at us or just send a friend request then why respond to them when they wouldnt respond if it was the other way around,

But we do understand that someone sending a wink could mean that they simply want to catch your attention while you are still online (if online at that time) or it simply could be there way of saying they are interested

If we get winked by someone we would be interested in we will often wink back to see if their original wink indicated an interest...

We do tend to message winkers who don't fit our criteria just to make it clear we're not interested and not to bother again

I try to at least type a paragraph so as not to come across as a troll, and I always keep it polite, well mannered and not crude.. Yet still 99% of the introductions I send get deleted without a response at all.

Which then leaves me wondering where I'm going wrong?

I try to respond to all (initial) messages even if it is a polite "No, thanks" - but that is just me. I do understand some people find it tedious to reply to so many messages - but then I think there is a bit of a myth that all single ladies get thousands... Or maybe it is just me who does not get thousands, who knows

I don't get mail that often.

When I do, I'll have a look at the profile. If they are nearby and what I'm looking for then I'll either wink back or mail.

If they are too far away I reply and say sorry.

I like winks, but don't do it often as it seems rare on here that people appreciate them. I would only send one if the profile specifically said it was ok to.

It shows that those people are willing to come and have the conversation with you, instead of vice versa, which is good on many levels IMO

If you think about it though, if you were to go out and wink 100 girls in a club, how many of those would end up coming to speak to you? Very few, if any I'd imagine (not least because I tend to look a bit spastic when I try and wink!). Some people just aren't as comfortable striking up a conversation as others, and it's no different on here.

Winks - I look at. Read the profile. If there are no pics other than cock pics it is a delete.

One liners? Depends on the line! And if a face pic is attached or not.

We don't mind winks, it's just like a wink or a smile in the pub or where ever, if your interested you take it further, if not no harm done.

It's a non committal way of making contact.

Don't get how winks are seen as a no no! It's like a smile or a Hi, what's your name can I buy you a drink... You wouldn't meet someone for the first time anywhere without some sort of subtle ice breaker. We appreciate winks and messages as we don't take this too seriously and pretty open minded about people generally.

Absolutely, surely thats why the wink feature is there.

It gives people a way to break the ice and see if they're interested in each other.

I always try to respond to a wink, even if its just to say no thanks. Manners cost nothing!

i send winks 1st nowadays because of the ammount of times i've sent pretty decent messages more than a paragraph long only for ignorant douchebags to just delete straight away not even a 'thanks but no thanks'. people seem to think we have all day to type several autobiographical messages. anyone would think you're applying for a job!

We would be happy to reply to a wink usually with a wink back if we liked look of profile. Abd yes would respond to one liners as we know how tough it is fit single guys to get any hits so understand short messages at first but would expect more from 2nd message

Now we are no longer looking for playmates I rarely look at winks. I always laugh when a playmate/friend winks at us cause never know if they winking to be flirty or winking cause they forgot we were already friends

I do send winks, but generally only where the profile has no photo and interesting text, or other way round. As maybe not sure what they looking for, or like I think if they see a wink and have an interest there maybe a winks back. As a single guy, know it difficult and you ladies and couples must get loads, but I dont take personally if dont get a response, plenty more fun to be had, and if the type not to respond are they really people I would get on with socially???

Always resond to winks and messages I get, mind that not many lmao....

A x

I agree with this, I've had people wink me then when I reply with message they just ignore it or delete the message.

Likewise I've had people message back who I'd never have thought would have or I'll receive messages from people where if I looked at their profile I'm completely not what they're looking for.

I think it depends how the person is on the day.

I've not been here long and I've always tried to reply to everyone. It's getting silly now though.

Yesterday I replied to someone who'd written a one liner so badly that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I just said "pardon?", and I got a load of abuse back.

From now on, no effort, no reply.

Our interpretation is that when we wink someone, we like their profile and are showing an interest. If they don't wink back, then we take that as no thankyou. If they wink back, then we send a message. It maybe our interpretation of this, but we respect that people have a choice, we are not to everyones taste. It's swinging ettiquette to us...

"We nearly always respond to winks and 1 liners because we think you alwsys have to start some where. What do you think? "

We.ve just put on our profile that we are going to ignore winks in future.

We advertise for exactly what were looking for...then get winks from people who are glaringly incompatable with that. We have the manners to respond to the wink pointing out the incompatibility which basically wastes our time.

Guessing why someone has winked, what theyre looking for etc then messaging for clarification - and not getting a reply can also be time consuming with absolutely no benefit to either party.

Its also a bit lazy to be honest and far too easy to use as a cop out from going to the trouble of sending a message. From now on we wont reply to winks nor will we be winking at others.

One liners such has ..Have a look at our profile...we take as an invitation to reply or not. At least the people on the other end of the message have taken the troble to type a few words
