I don't use the block button a great deal to be honest, in my opinion alot of people block for no reason. Do you find this is the case? Have you blocked for no reason? I tend to get blocked alot, normally for my unwanted opinion. I would use it for being harassed, what do you block for?

I block if I get harassed but that doesn't happen too often. More often I block for crude first messages x

Block for rudeness directly towards me, unwarranted graphic messages, fake photos.

Don’t use it very often except when I get guys messaging repeatedly

But that's understandable it's harassment, but blocking for no reason seems pointless to me.

I feel bad about it. But I use the block button to trim my search results. I usually have specific set of age and interests based on which I search. If any of the profiles do not interest me or if I have sent a message and they aren't interested, I will block them.

Some dating apps have "hide" feature where the profile just won't show up anywhere for you but they can still message you and you can reply. But fab doesn't have that option and I need to use the block button.

Other than that, people who message me after I have declined interest politely.

We usually use it for people who repeatedly message when we’ve said we’re not interested or anyone who is rude/pushy/aggressive.

Other than that we’ve only used it for people that we know in the real world.

My block list is pretty big, if I don't want to see what they post on my updates, I block them.

Sounds harsh but it's what everyone does to everything else they don't like

Sometimes its easier just to block than ever having any interaction with someone, am sure everyone uses the block button in a way it suits them

They have maybe disagreed with somthing youve written on the forum or a status update therefore blocked you so yes there likely is a reason, ive been blocked by a few on the forums and im guessing this to be the reason no biggy just counter blocked them lol

Many people use it as a filter.

We certainly do. Some threads will heavily populate our block list, those about bareback usually.

We also filter out people who smoke as we won’t meet them.

I imagine we’re on quite a few block lists as well.

He either didn't like your profile of comments you have made in the forums. Or, he read your profile, saw he wasn't a match, so blocked as there is no point contacting you. As others have said, there is no such thing as no reason.

Don't worry much about that. It's either because someone doesn't want to see your updates on the updates section or someone figured out they won't be able to meet you and hence wanted to trim the search results.

It's nothing personal. Fab not having an option to just hide profiles is the reason for that.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest to block someone.

I've blocked for many reasons, most of which involve forum comments and attitudes usually but not always involving some form of misogyny or misandry.

I've blocked stalkers and drama queens both male and female.

Generally though I've blocked people just because we have nothing in common and I don't want to see them in my updates. It's like another filter and keeps that page tidy and relevant.

Strangely enough I've never blocked anyone I've actually met.

Use it a lot so that I never contact someone that is not interested. Can’t be accused of continually messaging after a no.

And where they indicate on profile that they won’t be interested. Some of us do read profiles.

I've blocked someone 6 months after we last chatted because in the handful of messages we exchanged it was obvious we had nothing in common and then her forum interaction became extremely erratic and almost bipolar.

4 or 5 months later she suddenly realised she could no longer see my profile and then decided to draw attention to this on every thread I posted on and tell everyone how close we had been.

Obviously as a woman on fab her story would be the acceptable truth long before my side in the eyes of others but it has never put me off blocking anyone.

Block people who post about drugs, loans, excess drink (constantly), people who haven't any pictures or verifications yet been on for years - usually those with no profile text but have every interest option ticked. Also people that are just a bit too far up their own arses - expectant or those I just patently wouldn't meet.

I use it when:

someone constantly messages me despite me saying I'm not interested.

The first message is "wanna fuck"

The first message is crude and tells me what they are going to do to me

They clearly haven't read my profile

They are abusive because I didn't reply or read their msg with 5 minutes of them sending it

They are too far away

The pictures are a turn off to me

I know that seems a long list but some men on here don't realise that I'm a human with feelings and emotions

I think there's always a reason, I just don't think you will always know why someone has blocked you. To be fair, if you've never chatted why would you even be bothered or even know they have Used?!

I use the message filters to block people from messaging when I'm not looking for anything.

I also use the block button for loads of things, could be just the same usual people spamming chat rooms,

Could be someone that posts ranty/aggressive status updates

Could be someone I know in real life that I won't chat or meet with

Could be someone who's messaged that keeps messaging after I've said no

Could be someone posting photos that I don't want to see on my newsfeed

I've probs loads more but that's off the top of my head

The block buttons there to be used and it helps to whittle down to people who I would want to chat or meet with

If more people use the message filters and block button they wouldn't have 100's of mail to moan about.
