First heard about Key Parties when I was about 9 and my big sis was the Baby Sitting Queen in our area (had loads of her college mates doing it and she took a %age!!) Anyway, she let slip to my Dad (who was VERY old school) that she would go to a certain road on the new estate near us, have all the kids in one house (sometimes THIRTY!!) and the Mums and Dads would 'take their car keys with them'. She had to explain - in all innocence - what a Key Party was to my stunned Mum and Dad!!! Needless to say, I got sent out of the room..... again (weren't no fun growing up with Mary Whitehouses clone for a Mum... )

My best mate, at a wake. Was very pished due to the mum of the deceased not being a drinker and pouring him full glasses of Jameson's.

An old aunt of the guy who had died tried to squeeze her way through to the table we were standing at and said to my mate 'excuse me, do you mind if I just put my car keys on the table there?'

He replied, loudly, while fumbling in his own pocket, 'oh it's that sort of do is it?' Being a wake it was a fairly hushed atmosphere and everyone heard it. There was a mixture of shock and folk pishing themselves. I had to go to the toilet for 5 mins to compose myself, I was absolutely howling laughing.

in the old days of swinging the couples would go to a house and the guys put the car keys in a bowl the ladies took a bunch out and the car owner is who they played with , all very socialble as they all knew each other so no mingers there ,xx

Pork and I were taking about that the other day, I said knowing my luck i would end pulling his out lol... I think it's a great idea especially if you having more than 1 couple coming round, i also think it would instigate the situation better than all sitting round thinking "Right who's going to start and touch who"
