"Anyone else a sapiophile or sapiosexual?" With long term partners, definitely. It’s useless being in a long term relationship with someone who doesn’t enjoy conversations and isn’t on the same level education wise. For shot term, not really. All that matters for short term is physical attraction.

"I find intelligence attractive. I like a balance of physical attraction and intelligence. " Things being up an interesting question. How do y’all know someone is educated? Anyone can read a few novels or news articles and quote em in conversation. In my eyes, intelligence is an ability to analyze information and come to a good conclusion. How are y’all measuring that?

Likewise I'm very wary of saying I'm into intelligence. It is a trait I like but some people's idea of intelligence is more to do with cultural, education and/or their ability to conform to a social code. I must admit I like aspects of these things too. But I value far more a spark, a good wit and true natural intelligence. And a person may posses these things without the background or access to the former which a lot of people kind of mean when they refer to intelligence. Don't get me wrong knowledge and culture are cool but it's often mistaken for intelligence when it's not IMO. That's why I'm often reluctant to class my self as a sapiophile because of its connotations regarding what people class as intelligence. Mr

I suppose that comes out over time. On the occasions where you take time to get to know someone, their level of intelligence speaks for itself. I had a fb, who as well as being an epic lover, would always bring up the most interesting topics during pillow talk time. He didn't have a degree but his knowledge of the world through lived experience always had me captivated.

"And of course intelligence itself is subjective! In my case I like a guy that I can mentally spar with, I’m partial to a good debate and open to having my mind changed or my eyes opened. " Not sure if they exist here, but you might enjoy toastmasters or a local debate club. Depending how good ya are at communication, some higher label bars get rather good for political and other debates throughout the nights. Ex topic: Do you believe “All Tomorrows” to be a good thinking tool, as a story? Most people haven’t read it so if ya have and explain it, the conversation can go from there. It’s unusual for us to picture humans millions or billions of years more advanced and evolved than us, I guarantee it to be a fresh topic.

In bed, I enjoy playing devils advocate occasionally, since it always sparks an interesting convo. Some people enjoy it more than others!

I couldn’t agree or disagree, last thing to discover water would be fish. Read the karma sutra?" No, tend to like writing my own books. I’ve got limits, I question them by asking, what would I do if I did push/go beyond them?” Karma sutra is complicated, but limited. Well in my world.

"I steer clear of people who put this ridiculous phrase in their profile I get the impression that it’s used by slightly daft people who think it makes them ‘intelligent’ by using it. Personally yes I am attracted to intelligence but iit is one of many things. " Yeah I can't say I am attracted to the label ![]()
