We are new to the whole scene and have seen swingers clubs being mentioned. We are curious, what actually goes on at them? Is it a big orgy or can you pick and choose? Do you need to take part or can you just voyeur?… also what ones are best for young newbies

No it's not one big orgy! You can definitely pick who to play with, that's if they want to play with you. You don't have to take part with anything or anyone, even now we sometimes just play with each other and put on a show.

The ones we’ve been to have just been like normal bars with a completely separate area with playrooms. Although we have seen big orgies that’s not what it’s all about. You turn up, socialise, have a few drinks and if you click with anyone you can go to the playrooms.

You can go and do whatever you’re comfortable with doing. No means no and anyone breaking those rules should be removed from the club.

ClubPlay in Blackpool is great for newbies and shouldn’t be too hard to get to from Glasgow

Go along and expect nothing. Socialise with like minded people. Watch if you like, never touch without being invited to do so. The same goes no one should touch you unless invited to. Chilled fun atmosphere. Each club differs, look at their reviews. Check out club discussions and events on the forums. Look at the Web sites for info and FAQs

That's exactly what we did on our first night. We were bricking it and played in a room on our own. We bloody love club nights now

Try an organised event for a first time. Join a kik chat group in the run up to your chosen event. Meet for a few social drinks, before the event, to get to know the people you’ve chatted to. (You can ask the event organiser to add you to the kik group - if there is one) Check if it’s BYO and treat it like a night in the pub. Very sociable and welcoming atmosphere at pandoras / with very amusing party games to watch or join in. Dress down to go upstairs and just look around or go in private lockable rooms with 1 or 8 others haha! NO pressure to do anything at all but I saw a filthy game of pass the parcel hahaha I was nervous AF but I’m glad I’ve done it! A genuine laugh with friendly people x

The voyeur room at Club play is ideal for newbies. You can lock the room, people can see you through the glass but you can't see them.

Try CJs in Glasgow. A few of the regulars usually have a meet in a pub beforehand and it gives you folk to go with rather than on your own. This is all organize on the Scotland forum

We would say say just go see for yourselves. Clubs are safe and you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Just do a little research to find the sort of vibe that suits you both. Dress up or dress down. Big and busy or cosy and intimate. Spa type or night club like. Classy and sophisticated or relaxed and easy going. There are so many clubs with such variety of format and vibe. Or simply go to the club that is nearest or most convenient if that is easier for you. Sadly Scotland is still a bit of a black hole club wise so you may need to do some travel and maybe make a weekend of it. You just won't know until you try. We love clubs and we find it's the best no nonsense way to meet new people, have hot experiences and make some really good friends going onwards.

CJ in Glasgow is very good for first-timers, look on the home page in club reviews..

Do any of the clubs in particular Scotland do new to the scene nights? If not that would be a great idea...so that everyone in there is in the same boat which might ease people in a bit. I. An imagine that a club full of experienced swingers can be quite intimidating to couples/singles that have never been to one. We would definalty go to that kind of event and I think alot of others would to.
