How can we get rid of all these timewasters comming onto this site spoiling it for genuine swingers.We have placed 3 adds over the last month and only 1 couple had turned up for fun.

Maybe look at your own selection criteria?

Some people have more trouble with timewasters than others.

It's a matter of luck and patience I think, also look at your filters, do you block non verified people?

Are you actively searching?

Do you make contact via phone or cam before meeting?

Don't be disheartened, plenty of lovely genuine people on here, just have to ignore and out the time wasters.

On the whole I've only been let down by one single female so I must be doing something right.

The majority of my meets are from conversations initiated by the other party so I know they are interested and not just chatting out of sympathy lol

I tend to only meet people with recent verifications from meets in person. Even then I will ring them a week or so before the meet and just before I leave the house to go and see them.

If you think they are likely to drop out then suggest meeting in a club so all the time you spend getting ready wont be wasted.

Spent ages on arranging meets had one meet in 3 months. Most never turn up because of cold feet or are 200miles away... Think 33% is great -sighs-

We travel quite a way just to waste peoples time! Its a big expensive you know filling the car up with diesel and driving 4 hours to not bother arriving at arranged destination lol

but if it wasnt for us nobody would be able to discuss this on the forums lol

I travel up to an hour and a half for meets.

I tend to aim to spend more time on the meet than I do driving.

yeah but what about if its an hour and 45! Does this cut your playtime down by 15 minutes? Lol

If the drive is 1hour 45 then by my maths it would increase play time by half an hour lol

On a serious note..i wonder how far people get to an arranged meet and suddenly get cold feet? Do you get to the pub? Or not even get to the front door? I always wondered this? Lol

Not sure, we've not been stood up or stood anyone up.

Sometimes of course there are genuine reasons and emergencies can happen when least expected.

But I am sure there are also serial time wasters who get a kick from wasting peoples time!

We have 2 young kids. So numerous things can happen for us to cancel

1. Either one ill

2. Sitter cancels (ill)

3. The little sods are playing up.

We have had to cancel once at the last minute when Nick started bleeding (bastard coil). We had paid for the hotel room and managed to contact the other couple before they had left home. Yet they still thought we were timewasters and deleted us as friends.

We have been very very lucky so far in meeting people, as we live in Guernsey there are not many couples singles over here so we travel to the UK to meet people, OK we do not get over there as often as we should but in the 8 years swinging we have always had people turn up, OK not all meets where a success but they all turned up and we always played.

Quite surprised on here how many people say they will not speak on MSN, we get a great feeling for people who chat on there as to how they act sort of, maybe thats why we have been so successful with people turning up??

As opposed to just an email or two then arranging something

I'm not a MSN/Skype fan. I exchange a few messages, talk on the phone then meet for a coffee.

If someone in unable to firm up a coffee meet they're unlikely to turn up for a play meet in my opinion, so they take themselves out of the sift for me.

Have to say in five years I've never encountered a time waster. Conversations have fizzled out, social/play meets have been cancelled etc, but I don't class that as timewasting.

Chances are those people you disregarded as a "no thanks" because they didn't match up in 1 of your criteria were most likely to turn up.

However most people go for the perfect template because they get inundated with mail and whatdoyaknow? They turn out to be elusive.

Not so perfect eh?

Quantity doesn't mean quality.

That is fine if the people you are meeting live in the same town or say the next one, but when we have to travel across the water, we have to try and make sure the person is going to at least turn up.

Sometimes a back up plan cannot always be had at such a short notice as someone not turning up.

I think its hard no matter what way you try and do it.
