Wanting to get peoples opinions about messaging people who you think you recognise.

At what point should you tell them that you know who they are?

That’s what I fear. Seeing these people in local shops and them knowing could get really awkward

I honestly wonder how common this happening is. We’ve never spotted anyone we know in person.

Been on here a few year now and this is only the second time that I recognised someone.

The last person is actually my fwb now

Wife's female cousin!

Not a close family so didn't feel too awkward. Didn't stop at just a social either.

When we first joined, she saw her friend, recognised the tattoos and then texted her, 800 text messages later….. we have no interest in playing with them, or them with us but had a good chat about it at real life social event and some funny story swapping.

Why should it get awkward?

You would both be registered on a swinging site - so what?

Be adult about it, if they get awkward, lay them out - simples.

Although it may be a fake profile and some poor woman may not know her pics are being used.

I suppose it depends if you want to have fun with them and also how well you know them / see them around and if you have lots of mutual friends.

You could say that you think you know them and say who you are and include a face photo.

State that discretion is desired, that you hope that they are not too shocked and that you don't mind if they choose to block you.

Close by saying that we are all here for the same thing and you will respect their privacy however they choose to proceed (and mean it)

I’ve always wondered if I’ll ever meet or recognise anyone in person from here. I doubt it very much back in the 90’s someone recognised me from chatting online but I wouldn’t of realised whom they were if they had never said.

We prefer when people let us know that they regognise us on here and then can take things from there depending on who it might be.

Somebody worked us out from a photo, then messaged us, knew our names the lot, he let us know who he was and our secrets is safe.

I have had guys tell me in their first message. They have even told me my real name.

And one or two have said how they used to perve me when they were teenagers. And one even said he lived across the opposite Grove to ours.

I haven't bothered blocking though. They just eventually disappear, or leave the site. Xxxx

Recognized bloke whose pub I worked in . Didn't work for him he rented out Kitchen and dining area. Messaged him on here to say I hoped he'd keep it a secret as I knew he'd looked at my profile. Ended up having very enjoyable night with him.

You have to ask yourself why would you need to message them..it would only cause embarrassment for you both so just block and forget you saw them....there would be no other reason to msg them apart from to say...hey I know you..think how you might feel.

I recognised someone from my work place, and I have not said anything to her. I do wonder if she recognised me or saw my profile. I would be embarrassed I she spoke to me about Fab.

Seen someone we know on here and another at a club.

No problem.

We’re here for differing degrees of the same thing.

Discretion is mutual.
