TV's turned on or not ?

Just out of curiosity how often do you use your television ?

Personally mine is rarely off standby as I tend to either listen to the radio or a playlist on alexa ( other streaming services are available ) if it wasn't for the weekends when I have my children and we watch a movie as a family I don't think my television would clock up more than an hours use a week. The only other instance I can think of is if I were to have company then a blanket, sofa, bottle of wine and viewing of her/their choice.

Does anybody else take preference in music as opposed to watching the TV?

mine gets quite a bit of use. But only as it doubles as my 2nd monitor. I dont watch actual TV on it. Only youtube and stuff really

The only reason I put the TV on is to watch dvds..not watched "proper " TV in years..so TV going on depends if I've had a charity shop blitz and picked up a load of movies.. otherwise it's music and reading for me...

Other than football and boxing we don’t watch a lot of live tv but we do like watching a good series on Netflix

Seems to be a few of us aren't bothered with the day to day programmes on offer.

You say that yours is ‘rarely off standby’ but do you realise that your tv is still using up electricity when it’s on standby so it’s costing you money when you aren’t even watching it. You should turn the power off by using the button on the tv or at the plug socket if it’s going to be sat unused for any length of time as it doesn’t use any electricity unnecessarily then.

I have certain shows I watch i.e. The Librarians, Dexter, True Blood, Disney and Marvel. I also stream my music through my tv so its always on even if only for background noise.

we've not had one for 6 years

although we do watch certain things on my laptop from time to time if it's interesting enough

saving lives at sea with the RNLI is the last thing we followed because we have boats.

I haven't watched mainstream TV in 20 years. I'll occasionally watch a film on Prime with my kids, or K, other than that, I'm usually doing something else.
