Hey fabbers, a quick question..

Me and the wife are new to the scene, and really want to be as safe as is possible, and to obviously to protect others.. so have been looking at dental dams

...

I guess the question is do many use them? Would it be seen as in any way offensive if they were suggested for use? As you can see we really are very new to the scene, but want to be as prepared as possible.. honest straight answers most welcome!

Cheers for the replies.. it just struck me as odd that there is a product that basically makes oral close to 100 percent safe vaginally or anally.. yet doesn't seem to be popular at all, at least from what I can gather. I guess it isn't exactly the sexiest of products though, so that might be a factor, plus I will also concede that I personally do enjoy the feel and sensations involved when a women Is properly stimulated.

Is infection by oral sex not particularly prevalent then within the community? Just genuinely interested.

Again, awesome replies.. just good to get an insight.. they did strike me as being rather more of a passion killer when compared to the ease of using a condom.

Don't use them personally but theres a different alternative... super thin latex undies

I saw someone test them out and she said they're perfect for that protection element but also thin enough that you can still feel everything

Another handy tip...spray the target orrifice liberally with antibacterial spray, then wrap the subject in clingfilm and leave for 24 hours. Soak in boiling domestos for a few minutes prior to any tongue action. Should be pretty safe.

So you can make a dental dam from a condom... when we first came on the scene we looked at these and we googled and for us they just arent as good as without... but on saying this its all what you are comfortable with! Try one and see the only way to see and if your worried about being judged for using them dont be! You do what you need for your own piece of mind

Never in 8 years seen a dental dam being used. I know of ladies who after a meet would gargle with chlorhexidine.

So I did a Google image search, if anything would just instantly turn the fun into hilarity, this would be it

I think it’s largely down to calculated risk. I know the risk is there from any form of sexual contact, but it is a lot lower from performing oral sex that vaginal and especially anal. This is all due to the tissue in the mouth being thicker and even having antibodies in saliva.

There is still a risk, just nowhere near as high. I always use condoms, but have never used a barrier method for giving or receiving oral bad have never caught anything in this manner. Even when one partner had tested positive for chlamydia thanks to her previous partner, I was clear

Great reply, thanks for making the effort.

Absolutely your choice guys but - having googled them - they do rather look like passion killers - but then so do condoms and most of us use those.

Perhaps take a good antibacterial mouthwash with you and gargle after play. I’ve not looked into research on how effective that might be though - it was just a thought.

Cute couple btw

I don’t get calling condoms passion killers really. Fair enough if they took half an hour to put on, but 10-15 seconds at most. If you go off the boil that quickly, god help you

I meant more the concept of putting a small plastic bag on your penis before making love - which inevitably reduces some of the sensation.

However - like most ‘sensible’ people on here I use them with all but one of my sexual partners.
