It's mating time for spiders at the moment...we see more of them as they are looking for a partner. It depends on what size it was for me to be scared, hahaha

I used to be a complete arachnophobe. Couldn't walk into any room without checking the corners etc..

Years ago I got hyyppnotised out of it by a scheme they still run at London zoo.

I'll post a link for it.

We now live in a rural area and there are monstrous leggy things here but none scare me and I'm quite happy to deal with them.

If this is a phobia that is affecting you, try the scheme. It absolutely works and the feeling of freedom and liberation when you overcome that fear is wondrous.

For us, we have had a lot of spiders in the house with leg spans probably two £2 coins across where we live. Absolutely huge. And they seem to run faster than my cats can! Lightning quick. We capture them and pop them down outside in the garden. Horrible things but we wouldn’t kill them. They got shit to do too.

The body was the size of a £2 coin, and the legs looked the same as a toothpick, I just remembered it moved when I noticed it

Top tip, get a spray bottle and fill it half with water and the other half with vinegar. Spray it at the doors, corners, cracks etc. The smell disappears but they obviously smell it because it does keep them from coming indoors. Same goes for peppermint oil and tea tree oil, they hate the smell of these x

They must be big as one walked across the TV remote control and it changed the channel. No problems but I don't like EastEnders!

I have a phobia but somehow I find the tiny babies cute - but the massive house spiders terrify me, heart pounds, panic.. I cannot be in the same room as them and will be freaked out for ages after seeing one, constantly checking, anxious.. why are they always on the floor?!

Haven't seen a large one in my house this year.. yet! I've proberly just talked it up..

I think I have a phobia too, I keep looking in corners, and near the back door, to see if I see another one. And the really tiny ones I’m absolutely fine with. (Yeah I kinda still kill them) but now I’m kinda scared to turn off the lights

I don’t mind spiders which is a good thing considering the size of them I get in the house.

My daughter is petrified of them and has woken me up on the early hours to remove them from her bedroom.

What I am scared of though is snakes, I have a real fear of them. I have to make sure the toilet seats are down when we go to bed and the bathroom doors closed. It’s really stupid lol.

Absolutely terrified of them, particularly the big house spiders. It’s not an “ewww, icky” fear, it is sheer, blood chilling, fight-or-flight terror, bordering on a panic attack.

Fortunately my gf is able to remove them (in return I remove wasps for her) so they are usually dealt with humanely.

It’s currently conker season and there are lots about on the floor , spiders hate something about conker either the shell or something that they emit. Nonetheless, a few placed strategically around the home should see the 8 legged freaks off.

I’m scared daft of them. I have just paid a ticket for stopping on a double red and leaving my car because there was a spider in there with me and I once fell out of a warehouse roof (harnessed luckily) because one of the killer creatures ran towards me in attack mode!

travel around a lot.

I think it's a primal thing, you should be scared of ones big enough to bite. The big cardinals etc can leave a painful bite and swelling. Some will have a reaction to it. Bastards are getting bigger. What are they feeding them on ???
