Deleting people off friends list

Morning Forum, can we get your opinion on this matter.

We've been on Fab for about 5-6 months now, we've met 2 couples off here and had some amazing fun, so this isn't a complaint as we are going at our pace.

Since joining up we have accepted and sent out our fair share of friend requests. While we appreciate this isn't Facebook and don't need constant dialog between us, if some friends don't reply to messages, allbeit a quick "hello how are you"? Or don't reply at all,Would you delete them or just leave them on your list?

Thanks A & S

Me and my girlfriend have our own profiles and a joint profile. We only add people as friends who we have either met or played with. We cant see the point in having loads of people on our friends list who we have never met at all

I don't have a huge friends list so rarely need to delete.

It's purely for those i've met, forum regulars and those i'm hoping to meet soon.

If people want to share pics that can be done via attaching to messages - I don't see the point of having a friends list just for the sake of it. If you want to keep track of someone and their updates - simply hotlist them!!

I think there should be an easier way of unfriending people. A button on their profile for instance

I think when we started we got caught up in the excitement of it all and just added lots of people. With the little experience we have now we feel we want to keep the amount of people we play with a small number. So we think we've answered our own question there, so deleting it is. Like the suggestion about Hot list.

Thanks.

depends how you use your friends list dont it, if its to share private photos with people you want only potential meets to see then yes its worth clearing it up

but if its just a list of people on the site who at some time you added to the list as you got on then i dont see any bad or good points to having them on the list so dont really matter - people make to big a deal about friends list sometimes when if you dont use it to share pics then they aint much else use for it apart from a section where they can always find you rather than searching for you

I don't think there should be an easier way to de friend people,if they're ignoring messages and not keeping in touch every so often then they're not interested and therefore probably couldnt give a monkeys anyway

"pointless having friends on your profile if you dont speak to them after a couple of months"

I agree with this too, but I give it quite a bit longer before deleting, as people do have lives outside of fab, and you never know their circumstances or reasons for not contacting. I've been off fab for 6 months plus before now, but my profile was still on. Thankfully I have some very nice people on my list, who didn't delete me! It doesn't hurt to leave folk on for a while even if there's no communication

We think delete. We played with a couple and then got the impression they weren't interested and we wouldn't play again so deleted them. After a few days they did message us to ask why, but if it doesn't seem to be going anywhere I don't see the point.

We don't have a big friends list so really rarely need to delete.

Tend to use hotlist for those that we are interested in but haven't met or chatted with much.

I agree ... I like to keep a tidy freinds list ... a tidy list is a tidy mind and all that and if it hasn't gone anywhere or did but isn't going to again then you do some housekeeping and tidy it up.

I only add people i've met in person, that way i know they arent just pic hunters or non chatters. Works well for me

"very good advice "

That's how we do things to by and large, save for some forumites who have bypassed this requirement by their own merit.

I only have people on my friends list that I've met or intend to meet. Occasionally I'll add someone I chat with in these forums. usually if they ignore any communication 3 times I'll delete them as they're obviously not interested. Normally I'll message them and let them know what I've done and why, some reply and ask to be re-added some don't. Like the op said, its not Facebook.

We add the odd person but they rarely want to meet after they have seen our pics lol so they get given a few days and if no response they get deleted lol I dont see the point in them having access to all areas if they arent interested.

OK I'll admit it, I had a quick perv of your profile and pics. I don't think you have anything to worry about when you said people wouldn't be interested!
