Is this site clicky??

Hi, As a new guy on here I am finding it hard to break into the scene. In fact the 2 meets I have had are due to meeting on another site!

Is it just me, or are you regulars wary of new single guys. I have tried to get a mate to join so we can have a "couples" profile, but she frowned on the idea!

Look forward to your responses, and anyone in the south/south west, or who visit down here and fancy to meet, please say Hi.

4 weeks ! As has been said on many threads on here, there are many more single guys than any other group on the site, therefore the choice for single women or couples is vast.

Stand out from the crowd, be polite, READ PROFILES, send emails, be patient and I'm sure you will have as much fun as you can handle.

And as for 'clicky' I've certainly not found it so, join in the threads on here and you will soon make friends - they are a fabulous bunch in the forums.................

I've found this site to be the least clicky of the lot i've tried. It took me months to get my 1st meet, due to the sheer amount of single guys on here....to be honest we're lucky we are allowed on here at all. Just be nice, respectful and prepared for lots of rejections....you'll get there in the end

cliquey not clicky, now go away and leave me alone with my friends.

This site is what you make it, join in the forums. it may take some time until people get to know you enough for you to feel part of the furniture, but that's life, not a clique.

enjoy!!

There are cliques on here, I am part of one, very small membership.....

Ok, yes! I am on my own (sniff) no one talks to me.... I cant talk to anyone else cos I am worried they might tell me I cant talk to them cos I aint in their "gang" (sniff)...... no one says hello in the chatrooms, no matter how long I sit there looking at the screen, I would post a comment but I dont want to seem forward, so I just sit there reading about all the fun everyone else is having.

( I wish there was a sarcasm smilie!!)

We'd have to agree, the forums can be quite cliquey.

It doesn't bother us but could probably be quite off putting to newcomers.

having been on here first as a couple then a single now a couple again (thanks FAB) i can honestly say to all the single guys READ PROFILE then when youve read it READ IT AGAIN and only then send a well structured and polite message ... My lady gets 50 messages a week saying "fancy a fuck" and every single one of em goes in the delete bin...the guys who take the time to read her profile properly always get a reply at the very least...its not clicky its manners and a lot of guys seem to forget that...this is a great site and we both love it

No one ctually replied back with a hello or anything an iv been there few times. Even though this is a swing site a lot of people are not swingers just people lookin for a fuck or to get they rocks off.. True swingers know of swingers ettiquette an embrace all..

Is the site clicky.... I don't think it is as such intentionally....

Are there people who tend to gravitate towards each other, are there various in jokes, are there people who rather than flirting with each other in forum should probably take it to pm.... sure...

I don't think the forum, or the chatroom, is any different to any pub in the land as an example...

people will know each other... people will have met or socialised, and gotten to know people, you wouldn't go into a pub and everyone immediately welcome you with open arms... it takes time

I am probably more well known on another site than I am here... it took me a while to get known, now I am slowly becoming more comfortable here and it is taking time....

I do tend to stay away from the "in-joke" threads because they aren't welcoming to all or something that the masses can get involved in... and that maybe something that the regs could look at...

remember we were all new once... I still feel new here....but in time hopefully I will feel as comfortable here as I am elsewhere..

yes guys I find the site clicky been on few weeks now and finding it hard ( no not down there ) to get meets. Of course it might be the fact I'm old ugly and fat. It also seems that when you go to the chat rooms certain people seem to gang on on others for simple things like speeling mistakes may be to stop them getting meets. Might just go back to dogging

i think yr confusing clique with meets ,

the site does have little cliques in the forums and on chat,

but thats nothing to do with anyone not getting meets , there 2 totally seperate issues.

Yeah having rant probably isnt the best however when your e-mailing a couple and because you dont reply within a set time about two hours ( way from the house ) you get blocked does make you feel like that and its happended twice with different couples. nothing in the e-mails which could be classed as offensive. A simple your not for us would surfice.

Sure there are some cliques in the forums, and although I don't go there I'm sure there will be some in the chat rooms.....but there are a whole lot more people who are here standing as individuals/couples in their own right.

Personally I'm not out to join anyones gang or take sides over issues in the forums...if someone posts about something I don't like I stay away. I'll never understand why people feel the need to bring their antipathy and derision into the public domain. Live and let live....as I'm just here to have some fun and enjoy myself...and I think that's true for the vast majority. If you treat other people how you yourself would prefer to be treated you should have a good time.

This is the type of thing that tends to give the site a air of cliquiness to new and maybe not so new members.

The injoke thing can have the same effect as being in a pub, half hearing a comment and people sniggering,it doesn't make you feel very comfortable, even if it wasn't meant for you.

As for the flirting on a thread, fair enough most of us are guilty of it to some extent.

However, when it goes on between 2 or 3 people for three quarters of what started as an interesting thread it can become boring, more so to newbies who don't know the history of the participants.

The old saying "Get a room" comes to mind or in this case "Send a PM" would probably be more appropriate.

It recently even degenerated into a slagging match between two guys vying for the attention of a certain lovely lady, which no doubt caused embarrassment to those involved.

It would deffinately have appeared a bit odd to new site members I'm sure.

I agree with Bristolrob, single guys are plenty. The number of single guys we delete as they have no manners. We may all be on this site for one thing but manners cost nothing. My partner really gets annoyed when we get a fancy a fuck full stop. If thats being clicky than we are. Use manners and we always reply be it a polite yes or no.

I've been here a year and I still feel like it.... I am not sure if people in the forum know how uncomfortable it is at times... cause I look at the different subjects sometimes thinking "well what could I contribute to", the answer is nothing or not much.....

and then I shy away again.....

we were all new once, I just don't think people realise they are doing it, but I do think it is stopping more people from contributing...

Is this site clique?

I may get lynched for this but what the hell!

As a new comer to the site yeah it appears as if there are cliques, but can someone please tell me any social settings or groupings that don’t have them.

Schools, colleges, parties, pubs, work - even within our friendship groups we naturally migrate towards those some over others dependent on not only our own moods and needs but also on those of the people surrounding us.

As with all settings, here there are groups within groups and on this site the groupings seem to be more fluid and cross over, which makes it more welcoming than most.

What I have noticed is that on some of the threads the posters appear to have shared knowledge/information that’s not necessarily easy to dissect, but and it’s a big but, when someone (not a regular poster) posts into the thread they’re not ignored or pushed out, in most instances the thread moves to accommodate them. So yeah it appears clique but is also fun and if you pay attention you can start to put the pieces together.

So as a newcomer to this or anything else the best advice I can give as was given to me is jump right in.

Easy tell I’m bored of mid-term.

Is the site cliquey... no, but some of the people on it are (please note I did say 'some') and you get that anywhere and it's not always intentionally to be nasty or ignorant - they just become a tight/closed group of friends who don't have time for anyone else lol. Some groups of people appear to be cliquey but aren't... they just get caught up with in-jokes and banter. A few look as if they could be but are really just playing the game of being nice on the forums or in chat, but really slag off the people they natter with behind their back and then don't own up to it - so on the face of it they may look like they are super friendly but behind the scenes are saying things like "I'd only do her from behind coz if I had to look at her face it would be like fucking my mother... or granny" ... but then some of the people they banter with do actually know these people are two-face hypocrites and just play along for something to do.

So all in all, there are a few cliques and it can appear there are more cliques than there really are, but generally it's not cliquey really.

I agree with this 100%...well put!!!

Thank you – but it may all have just been a ruse to get a certain quote in (to make someone sweat wondering if I still have it on msn) **evil laugh** "

Ah i see...i've been there myself

I entered the LOUNGE.

With some interpedation, had a few knock backs and hassles but dealt with them and fought my own corner.

If your willing to put the time in., You will get some good responses.

Come in all cocky and know it all and your shot down in flames.

Come in friendly and up for a laff and you WILL succeed.

Me, i talk to everyone nice . ...oh and sexy ....did i say sexy with a lovely bum etc

i personally think cliquey is a harsh word, i dont think its so much people are cliquey as they just feel more comfy with people they know, if you walked into a pub/club or anywhere else and you saw someone you knew you would just automatically be drawn to them over strangers and its the same in any walk of life including internet site, you tend to chat more to people you know on here as in real life, i find tho most people will talk to you if you make the effort to speak to them first, of course not all the time but hey you never know if you dont try

This is my first post although been a member for a longish time. I don't think it is cliquey. But, The main problem is guys don't read peoples profiles and of course that means they get lots of knockbacks. We have a whole paragraph on our profiles which states no single guys in big capital letters but everytime I log onI have about 6 or 7 winks or friends invites from single guys. They just get binned no matter what the guy looks like or says. TYhis is because they havent taken the time to read the profile. We do meet lots of times with singles but only when we want to. The problem with these sites is that there are so many singles guys it means we can pick and choose. Occasionally we will get a guy who says he did read the profile and then spends time to write a decent bio on himslef and understands if we don't answer, we will sometimes answer these. The reason we put that paragraph in wasn't to scare of singles but to try to get rid of the "I am in the are and fancy a fuck are you available types". if we were we would be getting in touch with them. That's not what floats our boat though we like to form friendships and I think that is the misconception of being cliquey. I think Cliquey should only really be applied to a group of people who once they have a group of friends will not accept anymore regardless

I think that the issue of people not reading someones profile and forming friendships is completely different to the issue of whether the forums are cliquey or not. And women and couples don't seem to read peoples profiles either, as has been seen many times by forum postings and my own personal experience!!!!

This is my second time on this site and in my view the forums can be very cliquey indeed. This can be due to some people just knowing each other in real life and 'having a laugh' with each other within the forums, or it can be due to some of those more false people 'sucking up' to the forum community. The one thing i do not like about the cliquey side of things is that no matter what type of thread is posted it can get hijacked and degenerated into a series of silly, childish comments which completely ruins the thread. But there are also some great threads too!

I disagree, the site is what you make it, when I first came along I rarely, in fact never got a reply to my posts, unless I started a thread, now people know my ways a little I get far more response, some good and some not, but ya can't please everyone.

TBH Your comment tells me more about you than anything else, you feel it's cliquey IMO is because you haven't given people time but feel hard done to that they haven't give you the same time.

join in the fun, you will soon see it's not cliquey, of course some people have met away from the site and formed friendship but that happens in real life too.

I do not believe I have come across a forum that is cliquey. However, I am not one of those who would sit in a corner and expect to be entertained without making an effort.

I once came across someone who bad mouth the organisers of an event for ignoring them in a forum. Well, they did not inform the organisers they would be there, and did not make any efforts to let people who they were while they were there. Did not go up to anyone to say hi once. And they had the cheek to say they were being ignored!!!

Look at this from another angle... You walk into a pub when you are away from home and walk to the bar. As you do so, you shout Hi to everyone... How many are likely to say Hi back?? Hardly any, so why would you expect people in the chat roon, who are holding their own conversations, to even notice when someone comes in and says Hi?

Along the same lines... You send an email and the other party doesn't type back or declines your offer to get to know them better. Is that also a clique? After all, you don't fit into their world.

Bit different on a forum, but if people don't feel they want to reply to a post, why should they? I think the problem is that some people are either too "precious" and think everyone should chat to them, or they are perhaps just a little too needy!

This forum is like any other. It's only as freindly as the people currently posting.

I agree with an earlier comment that most posts degenerate into infantile exchanges between two or three needy members. Why they don't just private message is beyond me. I don't usually take any notice ( believing there is room for all ) but it's their inability to see that others are trying to join in and need feedback, acknowlegement or pulling in. To be honest the selfish and needies wouldn't even notice if most folk disappeared as long as they could keep blowing each other kisses.

It's not the overlooked folk who are needy......

I can't call the forum a clique.. cos it changes according to the attitude of the posters.

okay... having thought about it a little more, I think that certain parts can be considered to be clicky....

I went into the lounge and thought to myself "how many new people could really join in on the posts" and I reckoned only about half....

also then looked to see how many had turned into 2/3 person conversations , again probably about half....

I feel more comfortable posting in other parts of the forum...

I feel more comfortable in certain chatrooms rather than others... as a newbie to them, I have been made to feel really welcome in the scottish and welsh rooms... and not so much in the others....

so I have made decisions to go to scottish and welsh socials rather than some of the others.... consequencies

this has been a really good thread because you have seen people answer it, that you wouldn't do in the lounge for example....

if the lounge was more opening then the site would be better for everyone...

As in everything in life you get out what you put in. I am a regular chatter in the Scottish chat room and try to say hello to every new person coming in, unfortunately if you get caught up in on-going conversations, sustaining another new one is impossible, especially if the room is full and chat is flying by quickly. Best advice is to go into the chatrooms during quieter periods. It also helps if you just dive into conversations and go in regularly, once or twice is not often enough to be recognised and remembered. Fabio is a case in point, he persevered and is now greeted warmly and chats regularly with many. There's no room for wallflowers in fast flowing chatrooms!

Ok...I haven't read all the replies to this thread as there are so many. But for my input I have to say how annoying it is when you read and re-read a profile, then sent a well structured e-mail which is polite and friendly, only for it to be deleted without any reply whatsoever...and then they block you! Is that friendly? Is that polite? A simple "sorry you're not my type" goes a long way. We're all here for fun, not to be ignored and insulted. Yes I am one of thousands of single guys, but I was here as a couple and enjoyed every minute. I hope to be a couple on here again...but I believe there are a lot of fakers and tossers around who make it difficult for genuine people to get around. There...I've said my bit lol.

AAAWWWWWWW..... kitten, you've blown my cover!!! lol.xxx

Truth to be told, I can only comment on the forums and the welsh chatroom, cos thats where I hang out.

I often see msgs in the chatroom saying summat along the lines of "well, I am off cos no one wants to talk to me"..... thing is, they been sat there watching for sometimes 30 minutes, and said nothing. If you went into a pub and sat quietly in the corner..... do you think anyone would come over and talk to you?

As for the forums, its different. Anyone can contribute equally, all posts are up there until the thread disappears. Some ppl have textual diaorrea (who, moi?) and post loads, and others manage to get right to the heart of a thread with just a few pithy words...... HOWEVER, some ppl do seem to think that theirs is the definative opinion on the matter being discussed, and take great umbrage at the slightest whiff of dissent.

As for the post about "some threads ending up as a flirt fest between two or three ppl".... I guess I should plead guilty, your honour, to some of that!! However, if ya dont like it, dont read it..... it aint compulsory, and you could dive in and take part, or you could take a hike..... no skin off my nose.

I crash about in my size nines, I sometimes act the idiot, and sometimes I sit back and soak it all up.... but I never knowingly act as part of a group to exclude others (my definition of a clique), and I havent seen that happen either. Yes, there are in-jokes and groups of friends, there are discussions about what went on at this party, club or that social, but the solution to feeling excluded is easy, turn up at the next one, join in, make friends and then you can post in the forums about how great it was lol!

To sum up...Jayne fell out with one of our neighbours, and wanted to move, to which I replied

"there are angels and arseholes everywhere, the people stay the same, only the names and faces change",

which was quite insightful for me!!

Iam new on this site and on the whole it seems pretty good, however i do sumwhat agree with the original post. All these types of sites tend to be a bit clique. What is more of a worry is the attitude of a certain minority of people who seem to think they are gods gift. Often poeople who wouldnt usualy get much attention in the 'real' world get a lot of attention on here and it goes to there heads. I know there are loads of pushy guys on here but i sent an email when i first joined and because i was not personally verified got a pathetic and arsey reply which was unwaranted. People need to lighten up a bit and stop taking this site and themselves so seriously.

Definitely beginning to think if you don't agree with the more prolific posters then you're not in 'their clique!'

Perhaps we should creat a forum heading for the 'spitting dummy out' people?

Please keep it simple for your male readers.

I believe rissole is a patty/cake made with grated raw potato or other root vegetable, mixed with other ingredients before being fried.

However, I could be wrong

It is interested to observe this thread is still going strong, despite the lack of contribution from the OP!

Come on OP, do you still find the site cliquey, or have you given up after observing some of the behaviours on here?

A fishcake is made with fish full stop, yu cannot have a meat fishcake

A rissole can be made with vegetables alone or mixed with meat or fish.

You could have the same arugments over teacakes, baps, oven bottoms.

I think this is a regional thing.
