We were discussing the amount of timewasers we encounter - not just on Fab but on other sites we've been on. Both couples and singles so were not single bashing ( this time lol)

We realise some people will always be ignorant rude arsewipes whatever the situation, but we wondered if its too easy to become involved in the general swinging scene and if this might be the cause of a lot of the hesitation and/or timewasting by 'amateur' swingers'. The internet has made it very easy to casually and ananymously contact other people. We wondered if a pay site would out the 'rubberneckers and attract real time swingers, leaving a lot of the wasters behind.

Are there less wasters on fully fledged pay sites? Does a fee keep the 'Swing curious' at bay or is it just as bad?

The problem that I have found with the pay sites is that some users have an attitude of "I've paid so I should be getting a return for my money"

This can make for some grumpy and abusive messages if I dare to turn someone down.

Yes I get that on here, but on the pay sites I have tried it's far worse.

I've said for a long time there should at least be a fee to join which could be refunded after being a member for a certain period of time. There's too many people who create a profile then leave then open another profile and they do this over and over again

We were members of 2 paid sites, quite a lot of money, both were full of time wasters and not worth the money.

We joined Fabs and we are gold site supporters, so again we have paid, but the fee is minimal.

We like to see if others also pay, as we do believe it means those people are more genuine.

Plus on here, you get more options available when you become site supporters.

As with any site, paid or not, time wasters are prevalent, as are keyboard warriors.

So no in essence, don't fork out money elsewhere, as to us clubs and Fabs are worth the money and just need to swift through the bullshitters.

Sorry guys, but the way you've worded your post I can't help but feel the same. Sure you are lovely people though and probably just a little fed up..

So, to answer your question, yes, we think joining a pay site probably does cut down on the time wasters in our experience. However, you are also severely limiting your choice as not everyone would want to pay a monthly sub to join a site they may not use all the time, so you could be missing out.

We've been on a few sites over the years, paid and otherwise, and we've found Fab offers the best compromise. It's free so does attract the time wasters but no more than any other.. plus the site supporter idea gives you the choice to pay, get more choice, and even limit your contact to other paid members if you want to. We rarely go anywhere else..

There is a well known pay site that advertises everywhere:

Dont waste your money on it as the same people are likely to be on this and other sites anyway!

I made the mistake of spending money on membership and wont be doing it again.

Supporting this site is cheap and I recommend it - and the forums here are well used with a variety of topics and info unlike the pay sites.

I'm no expert though - there may well be better sites out there so some-one may be able to recommend one.

Sorry but your post is arrogant, elitist and to be honest makes you come across as totally up yourselves and not at all pleasant.

If that attitude comes across in your messages I suspect that those you dismiss as timewasters just don't want to pursue things.

That wasnt the assumption at all and hope you didnt read it that way.

The question was in essence 'Do you get less time wasters on a pay site' Or does charging a fee deter the timewaster.

Yes hence my mention to keyboard warriors in my post

As again not matter what site, not even a sex one, there are always ones who get off on causing trouble while sitting behind a screen, who would never have the guts to say it to your face

I definitely don't think that you are time wasters, the extra perks for £10 on here are good

But generally speaking, and yes a generalisation, but what we have found to be the case, people who pay the minimal fee are less likely to be time wasters.

However I must say we have not encountered anyone on Fabs who has wasted our time, so we must be lucky

I have tried pay sites and as a single male had no response at all from other members. I have also been a member of other sites at a similar cost to Fab and was recommended this site by others. I have found though that by rather than arranging one on one meets if I go to the Socials and partys that are regularly arranged on Fab, I can meet the Genuine Swingers and over the last 3 years I have been on this site have met and played with some wonderful and genuine people. This is why I dont go on the expensive membership sites as I would rather spend a months membership on a trip to a club or other social.

By Amateur swingers in our original post we meant people visiting and registering out of curiosity with no intention of taking part in swinging, who then make arrangements they know they wont keep to.

We didnt mean people who dont pay or people new or inexperienced in swinging.

We apologise for any huffs taken. You can see by our Verifications ( people whove met us) were genuine decent people.

I was a member of a pay to mail site!

And believe me, there were LOADS of spammers on there!!

I believe that if you pay to be on a site, you are more likely to respond to msgs in the belief that you want to get your moneys worth! So spammers take advantage of this!

Whereas, on a free site like this, you can afford to take the time and sort out the wheat from the chaff!

For ages and ages I harped on about how the paying sites must have less timewasters on them. We tried three different paying sites, one quite expensive. And it was exactly the same if not worse than Fab. And there are a lot of the same people on the other sites too. We will be sticking with Fab and putting the timewasters down to experience and moving on because we have found some great people in amongst the dross

I was a member of the biggest pay site after it was sold to a media group for £500m. As a single I often received MSGs from single women that were obviously working for the site to keep subscribers to continue to be members.

What can Fab do? TBH not much you can avoid members without verifications and photos BUT believe me I've met some cracking people on here who just like to be anonymous , if you a hot women you are just asking for trouble posting a photo.. You'll get inundated with mail. The only thing I can think of is that guys need to be photo veried and have a face photo in private to join...

Pay site do have their fair share of pretenders.

Theres nowt wrong with Fab.

Weeding out the timewasters is a skill we have learned.

I was on a pay site earlier this year and the admin used to send out random messages to keep you interested and when i checked those peoples profiles they hadn't been on for months, plus the site was full of timewasters too

possibly the most famous paysite is an absolute disgrace, dont join that one.

To be honest the problem with said pay site is that some mebers can join for free so you still get the timewasters, however we are on a pay site and we rarely get timewasters or messages from people who sound either too good to be true or billybullshitters.

there are some decent paysites but fab is still best.

Just to expand on this, we think that the "amateur" title can include, thosesad and lonely types that create a profile to just look at the pictures. We too have been members of other paying sites, including the one that has adverts everywhere and we found rude, pretentious timewasters on all. Sometimes we think that you just have to rise above it. Fab has got it just about right, free to use to encourage "genuine curious swingers" with an option to get the bells and whistles..

We tried a well known paysite and it was a waste of money. When we started out 10 years ago or so doing it we found to be a constant source of joy and really good about it. Now I bet only 5 or 10% of contacts ever come to anything. Can't put finger on it but I think it's become too mainstream and there are far more opportunities to come across time wasters. Hope that helps. xxx

I think some people just take it all to serious, i never come on looking for a particular date to meet i just come on, chat and if i get on with someone i meet, if not i dont, i have spoken to loads of people i have never met but i dont view them as time wasters as i dont want to meet everyone i chat to

Maybe if people were a little more laid back they wouldnt view quite so many people as time wasters, if your fixed on getting a meet for saturday night then chances are you will be siddopointed as in any walk of life plans dont always work out

The only no show we've ever had when a meet was arranged was from a pay site...

To be honest, we take it all with a pinch of salt and just assume that the people who disappear when we've exchanged a few messages either don't fancy us or got cold feet, shrug and move on...if we meet, we meet, if we don't, it's no real skin off our noses...

I (mr) was on a paysite previously and it was no worse nor better than here and fun, meets, and friendships were had.....as indeed they are on here,though i do find it nicer here as a rule....though still get the odd time waster,rude person,and the perenial member who doesnt read the profile,which is THE most annoying....but all in all FAB is still the best site IMHO.......just one little thing ,i did try to look at the OP profile and we are blocked...wondered why? not aware of any issues between us ,never met ????
