With the pandemic, I've heard little tales I can't swear are true, things to suggest booking a hotel and arranging meets are now difficult.

Does anyone have any recent experience on such?

Also, Can people please advise Hotels in Manchester that are good to arrange a meet?

Be nice if you can express the reason of any suggestion.

What's your budget?

The Mere is nice, close to junction 19.

Similarly Premier Inn at Salford Quays okay too as plenty of places for social and drinks nearby.

Is there still a Travelodge at the end of Deansgate?

I can’t say for sure, but my guess is that things are getting back to normal now. My own recent experience of hotels (vanilla work trips) has not surprised me or suggested any potential issues taking guests upstairs for a while (beyond the previous fire planning issues).

Manchester

There are 3 hotels close to the Trafford Centre, and numerous premier inns around the city.. then there are the more expensive hotels in the centre too.

What we would specifically like is .........

A hotel bar, hotel breakfast and entrance we can allow a guest into.

We're not too bothered about budget but as it's only one night, we're also not bothered about luxury

Can't say I've noticed any difference to pre covid. Village hotels are fantastic as you can check in and do everything online. No idea about Manchester area but can't see why it would be any different there

No idea where you've had horror stories from. Scaremongering?

Cr*wne plaza Manchester city centre - close to the northern quarter and (from my experience) once checked in you’re left alone.

Not overly expensive either if you get the booking right.

out of town!

I was in a hotel near the airport all week last week and to be honest it wasn’t really any different to how it was pre-pandemic. You certainly wouldn’t have had any issue with admitting guests…

Try Hotel 1 (One) virtually opposite Picadilly train station. Nice bar, two entrances from memory, no problem to take guest up in lift.

Same for Novotel on Pottland St, couples of entrances, could go to bar before passing reception on way to room.

Just things like they're asking for photo i.d and only allowing those names booked into the hotel.

This was a few months ago, so possibly during lockdown when hotels were operating.

I've heard nothing to suggest either way since then, so wondering on people's recent experience

I've stayed in a few recently and they don't really want contact with guests so I've found it's better
