Hi, Anyone else notice abandoned profiles...???

I'm on about women who have been on Fab for quite awhile & were regularly active here & never said that they were taking a break or whatever.

All of a sudden they become totally inactive as in not online & their profiles are still visible.

What I'm trying to say is... I'm getting a strong feeling they hadn't planned on just becoming inactive all of a sudden. If they had planned to take a break they would more than likely have hidden their profile.

Some haven't been online in over a year. I'm just getting a strong feeling that maybe something sinister has happened.

Anyone else feel or get this inclination???

No I think most have just taken time out and couldn't be bothered hiding their profile. I certainly wouldn't jump straight to thinking something sinister happened .I've seen plenty of men and couples profiles do the same .

Oh ok...Maybe I am jumping to conclusions with 2 profiles... I know one used to have quite disturbing updates about being threatened etc...She used to hide her profile from time to time when on a break but as I said this time her profile is still on display & It's over a year since she's being active here.

I have her on my hotlist that's how I know this info. I don't want to come across as weird etc...

I'm just curious does anyway one else get these instincts about certain profiles. As in concerned for their safety etc...

I understand why you’d be concerned with your hotlist friend. I think I would be too if someone posted regular status about threats then disappeared. Unfortunately unless you have other ways to contact her, you just have to hope she just decided to take time out and is doing ok.

I abandoned my profile for 9 months because I didn't want to hear/see from my former FWB. During this time my profile was visible.

I logged back on and he'd left the site.

I understand many leave their profiles visible when taking a break

This woman always hid her profile when on a break. I was aware of her on my previous profile. It's not like her to leave it visible when not active on here for quite some time.

I just have a strong feeling something sinister has happened to her...As I said she also had disturbing updates...i.e being threatened & stalked etc...

Anyway I just wanted to see does anyone else get these gut instincts about someones safety & I thought maybe someone was aware of this Female too

Covid and the associated regulations probably caused many to take a unscheduled break. No point logging in if you can't meet unless you mostly log in to read the forums or chat to friends.

Probably wouldn't think about hiding the profile as your not intending to leave and then life takes over (or in some cases covid had)

I personally think all profiles that have been inactive, for say 12 months, should automatically be removed from the site. There are enough fake profiles etc already to wade through without inactive profiles cluttering things up.

I appreciate a lot of these might be legit but I'm sure if someone is having a long break they wouldn't be too put off by having to create a fresh profile if/when they rejoin.

I'm sure plenty won't agree with me though!

I've noticed this aswell and I've come to the conclusion that Donald Trump has abducted them in his space ship from area 51.

All this stuff about they are busy with life or have found happiness or taking a break is total rubbish.

It's definitely sinister xx

I get what the op is coming from, but sadly I agree that it's a little bit of an overaction, don't forget not everyone wants to make a song and dance of taking a break or leaving the site.

However if it was a case of foul play, then that person's family and friends outside of fab would be the first ones on it.

I know of one lady who died from a known illness - that was a year or so ago i think... Her profile was still 'live', but not active obviously

I worry about a girl i was interacting with recently - we were having very unsettling discussions

There are strange people on here, ive often wondered the same thing. I know on a different nameless site there were profiles uploaded that later turned out to be missing persons, someone actually made a profile complete with face pics of a well known case. That profile stayed up a few years before someone noticed and it was removed

I'm actually not on about every profile that goes inactive & leaves it visible. There's one particular profile that I have good reason to be concerned about.

& No I don't think I'm being "dramatic" as someone else has said further up the thread. Nor am I saying people should "make a song & dance" if they are taking a break, as someone else has said.

I know how this Female handled her account & as I said if she was to take a break she always & ever hid her profile. As I said earlier I know this because she's on my hotlist

I think from what you’ve said you’re right to be concerned, OP; maybe you can PM a mod with their details and ask them to check it out? I don’t know if that’s within their remit, but I’m sure they’ll know whose remit it IS within. Let us know how you get on? I do hope it’s a false alarm x

I get what you're saying now OP. However, in your initial post you made it seem as if you meant the majority of abandoned profiles when you were referring to a specific one. I think you're right to be concerned but don't know what you can do about your concerns.

I would be concerned too if I was in your position, but as someone said earlier, if the girl had suddenly disappeared, she must have some family and friends who would have reported her missing to the Police at the time.

I think it might be worth talking to admin about your fears, but I don't think there is much you can do otherwise.

It is possible that she stopped using that profile and is back on Fab with a fresh name and profile. With any luck she will read this and contact you after seeing how concerned you are about her.

I had a scene friend who went missing. She came to my house and said her husband had discovered her swinging life. She was trying to decide whether to stay with him or leave.

We agreed she’d come back a fortnight later but she didn’t turn up.

I messaged several times (on Telegram - I didn’t want to call in case I caused more problems for her at home) and heard nothing. She’d said she wasn’t scared of him but even so, I was worried.

In the end, a friend suggested looking at her WhatsApp because it displays “last seen”. She’s regularly active if there and on Facebook.

We’re not in touch now but I miss her. I guess she just needed to leave this life behind.

I’m not sure what you can do if you have no other contact details. X
