Blatant flattery

Do blatantly flattering messages put you off?

I feel really uncomfortable with guys making a song and dance about how stunning I am because either they don't care and would shag anyone or there's a chance they are seeing me as they want to and would be disappointed by the reality.

As for being told how pretty I am, or that I don't look my age by anyone who has only seen my public photos (i.e. no face pics), well that's just absurd.

Even worse when they're just saying 'nice tits!'!!!

I have the same problem with random messages complimenting my earlobes!

Depends what you mean. I have honest photos of myself on here that I don't particularly like but I wouldn't put up a seriously unflattering photo.

Even 'beautiful' celebrities and models can have unflattering photos taken, as evidenced by some magazines publishing them to crow over. Does it make the celebrity an unattractive person?

How does one accurately judge which photos will honestly represent themselves to strangers and which are unusually unflattering?

I have face photos in my private gallery showing me in natural light and with no makeup on, and my profile is quite clear about my size, so I'm not excessively vain. You'd need to ask someone who has met me whether my photos are representative of the reality.

it does put me off a bit, because it makes me think that looks matter a lot to them.

it depend who says it and what else they say as well.

i dont take what people say too seriously.

most people just say they like my pics, and nice hairy fanny.

i like to tell people if i like their pics too.

how do you feel if people say they like your pics?

We have no issues with messages that are flattering.

Cruder messages are not a form of flattery.

We have lots of messages complimenting us on our pictures, which are a clear representation of us and the type of people we are, so often no need to even see a face picture of us.

As the image we portray continues above the "head cut off" pictures we show in our public gallery.

I am sure it is also easy to ascertain messages with insincere flattery, those who would shag anything.

"how do you feel if people say they like your pics?"

That's a compliment.

Telling me I'm stunning is tosh.

Problem is you wouldn't be happy if you sent your pic to someone for an opinion and they came back and said you're fuck ugly! People are always polite, especially if they think they'll get a shag out it.

It doesn't Bother me! At least they are being nice like everything else on here, take it with a pinch of salt. Some of the OTT flatterers end up being right good banter lol I certainly wouldn't get offended at someone paying a compliment. The site is what it is, people try to get other people's attention, flattery is just one if the ways in which they try to do that. No harm, no foul!

I ignore most 'compliments'. Other things to me are compliments. Respectfulness.

I usually send bad photo's of me. If they say I'm stunning I know they'll shag anything.

At least when they meet me hopefully they will be relieved I don't look as bad as the pic.

To be fair if anyone messages saying you look ok or that you will do for now etc.... They won't get far will they ?

It's par for the course to be complimentary and just as in the real world some are over the top , but mean well !

There's a difference between being rude and not being realistically flattering.

If I send my photo to someone, it's so they can judge if I am attractive enough for them to want to meet me, or not unattractive enough that they don't. Realistically though, I am not stunning. I have some good features, certainly, but I'm not stunning.

To tell me I am, as I've said, makes me feel like they don't care as they'd shag anyone, or that they have an inaccurate idea of me and are likely to be disappointed.

I'd rather people were honest, so I can know they're not imagining I'm someone I'm not.

I'd rather be told I am attractive, (or even acceptable not unattractive!), than hear I'm stunning.
